I just got home and I am way too exhausted to take pictures, but here is the scoop:
-Halogen Valor
Oh boy, I was so excited when I opened the box and saw the shiny black wedges on these boots! And I was so excited when I zipped them up and they hugged m skinny calves! And I was so excited about the buttery softness and comfort! I thought Mr. Weitzman might have finally met his match.
Then I looked in the mirror, and I was so disappointed. The top part flares out crazily at my thigh. I wish it had an elastic gusset like the SW's. I felt like I was wearing a pair of fisherman's gum shoes. Back they go, with regrets.

Soooo fabulous. I love them. The light part of the shoe is somewhere between a beige and a cream, but not beige enough for me to hate them. I didn't find them to be distressed really--maybe the distressing is only on the cognac color? And the little bit of a pancake heel makes them seem dressy to me--but I have a low standard for dressy.
Anyway, they are VERY generously padded, to my surprise, and quite soft. The only problem is that they are very difficult to get on for some reason. I had to loosen up the laces considerably. But they are worth it. They are quite masculine looking so that might not be your cup of tea, but it certainly is mine. I do wish I could have gone with my regular 6 to make them extra cheeky, but a 7 is hardly a big size. Definitely recommend, but size up if you have wide feet.

OMG, KILLER booties! I am so thrilled with these little shoes. I walked to work, from work, out to lunch, downtown to get my haircut, and back uptown and didn't feel a hint of pain. I left the house at 8:00 this morning and got back at 10, so these are beyond 8 hour booties. I can't believe it. I thought surely the balls of my feet would ache or I'd feel wobbly and unstable, but I have NO complaints. My feet were very happy.
I will get around to posting pics some other time but thought I'd post in case anyone was curious.
