Hit: (pics 1-3) On a whim yesterday I picked up these blue snakeskin effect wedge pumps from Cole Haan (outlet) that I had considered a few months back, and I wore them today for a meeting that ended up lasting 6 hours, if you include travel time. They were incredibly comfortable - I really wish I had bought these sooner! Cole Haan runs a bit small for me so I always size up .5, but these are a great toe -- pointy-ish but not too pointy, and the front accommodates a very slight bunion. 3-inch heel but on a wedge, and they were fab all day long.
Miss: (pics 4-6 and Find) The Everlane booties, sadly, were a miss for me. They are a beautiful leather and a nice almond shape (although I do not like the bright white heel protector) - but they are high cut in the front in an odd way -- they hit at an uncomfortable spot and there is a lot of extra leather so they buckle really badly. You can see when I am standing straight (pic 5) that the bootie juts out diagonally from my shin bone. It's not at all what I am looking for in a chelsea, which I feel should be closer to the foot. Back they go.
Any recos for a good black Chelsea (traditional, flat, sleek)? Why are they so hard to find?
