Fly London Anyone?

It all started with GoldenPigs post on boots. I saw those burgundy patent boots and started looking online. Then I cam across these ankle boots and the idea took hold.

A co-worker has a few pairs of shoes in this brand and I asked her about sizing. She popped by today and brought socks so I could try on her shoes since we both wear an 8.5. They were these ones.

They felt very comfy so I am very tempted. They come in red leather, deep purple suede and a muddy green/brown suede.

Anyone familiar with Fly London? If so, would you recommend them?

I used to have a pair of their boots; they were pretty comfy, but not Doc Martens comfy.

Shannon has a pair of sandals, I think.

I can't wear them -- sadly, I just don't fit them at all. But I have friends who swear by them.

I have two friends who swear by them. I think Diana's mustard gladiators are Fly London too.

I've seen them and tried them on. Comfy and very nice quality leather. I'd buy them without hesitation--I just haven't found the right pair for me yet.

Yes, Ceit is right, my mustard gladiators are Fly London. The leather is very soft and does not rub at all, which is rare for me. The soles are a little on the thin and unpadded side but I think that is a function of the gladiator style; I would imagine that the chunkier soles like on the ones you linked would be cushier. They fit true to size for me (EU38, US7.5-8). I can't really comment on width/depth as mine are completely adjustable (the first 2 straps are buckled and the rest have velcro).

I think Shannon has a pair or two as well.

so not exactly comparable except for the sole.

Nordstrom says the 37 is a 6. I wear Danskos in a 37, and Dansko says a 37 is 6.5 - 7. IMHO, the Fly London 37 is like a Dansko 37. ECCO, on the other hand is either too big or too small on me.

The leather is super soft, and of course with the laces I can adjust them to accommodate my bunions. My right big toe doesn't bend, so I added a foot petal on that side to make the modest angle of the heel even more modest. They were very comfortable for walking around for over six hours on the limestone at the Getty Museum. After that, I think my whole body and mind got tired.

I have other Fly Londons on my Nordstrom Wish List, as their price is a bit steep for me. I've never spent this much on sandals in my life, so I'm pretty pleased as the last expensive sandals I bought I had to ditch as unwearable.

The entire Fly London line as sold in the UK is pretty interesting. Looks like only a tiny sliver is sold in the U.S.

Love Fly London. I had a pair of sandals that I loved but had to purge cause the heel was too high.

Thanks everyone. I ended up ordering this pair in the dark brown. They were listed as dark grey I think but looked like mink brown on my monitor.

I would highly recommend Fly London if they suited your personal style. I have problem feet and own a paint of Fly's with a footbed/sole similar to the 2nd link you posted. They are super comfortable though it needed a break-in period (I have a wide forefoot, narrow heel). Some of their leathers are actually quite soft.

I personally didn't love my Fly's because they don't really fit my personal style. But yes - I highly recommend the rubber wedge types for comfort!!!!

If I remember, Angie has dubbed them very comfy, even though they are too casual for her.
