OK,

I love my new Fluevogs. I have 2 pairs, my problem is that when I wear them I get upper back and neck pain. The heel is the wearever heel and it is only 2 inches. I can wear other shoes with that height heel , no problem.

I cannot seem to find the link to the shoe.

Will this go away if I wear them awhile or will they be mainly occasion shoes? I know , no one really knows but wondering if anyone has had this experience.
I am willing to just wear them awhile and bring changing shoes for much walking. They are very comfortable- my feet are fine. Too late to take back and I do not want to.

Hmmm. All the shoes I have are in the Malibran family, whatever that is. I do not have that problem. I wonder what the issue is. For the price they should not just be occasion shoes!

Jean, I wonder if we have a physical therapist in the group? It sounds as if you may be carrying yourself differently in these than in other heels. Is there a difference in the footbed or the placement of the heel on the shoe itself? It sounds very upsetting.

You are very astute. I do not know. They are quite comfortable. It is upsetting but I have had shoes that did this for a bit and then I got used to them. it could be because I have not worn heels much for a while. I am used to flats, cowboy boots and wedges. When I wear heels it is usually for a short amount of time. I had hoped that I could wear these longer.
I am not positive it is the shoes. It could be from working around the house. I hope there is a solution.
If not - they will be occasion shoes which is a drag.

Changed the title to see if anyone else has suggestions- I do not want to get rid of shoes that I love!!!

Greenglove-- I would check your posture when wearing these. Sometimes I will stand funny when I am tired or lazy in heels and go the whole swayback behind out thing and that or my upper back trying to correct the pressure on the lower spine caused by doing that (rather than using my abs) will cause back pain for me. Also, I wear 2" cowboy boots, but find them infinitely more comfortable because the heels set more forward. I find similar stacked heels that sit a bit more forward and then taper to the back of a shoe more comfy. It seems to shift the whole center line of the body back over the heel, which is something I have a problem with.

Thanks Elly, that makes sense. These heels do seem to be more in the center of my heel which actually makes them more comfortable because there is no pressure on the ball of foot. I am starting to work out more and maybe will start to develop better ab and back muscles. They are not high heels at all, but my back may be in a slightly different position. Posture is important. Oh well, I usually do not wear a heel all day anyway and because these are casual , I can carry around an alternate if need be. Thanks!! I may need to practice a bit and wear them shorter amounts of time.

Exactly what Suz and Elly say. You must be carrying yourself differently in the Fluevogs and it's causing pressure on your back. Stretch a little when you wear them - get your back into a better position.

Make sure you are carrying your head over your neck when you wear them. It sounds like the muscles in your neck and back are working too hard...and since your skull is heavy it's important to make sure you aren't forcing your muscles to do all the work of carrying it around. Make sure you are "balancing" your head squarely on your shoulders when you walk, sit, stand, etc. It is amazing the havoc we can unconsciously wreak on our body by bad posture! I have had terrible posture since puberty and actually took Alexander lessons a while back to try to get better.

Good luck! I hope you can work it out and wear your fab shoes...Maybe a trip to a chiropractor or masseuse would be in order?
