Fluevog shoe dying project

Calling all expert shoe/handbag dyers on this forum!

I got a pair of these Fluevog shoes through the secondhand market. I don't think I'm likely to wear them often in their current state because I would default to my black/white Fluevog oxfords.

However, I'm pretty sure I'd wear them if they were a bright yellow. Or blue. Or a silvery gold. Or a multicolored blue and black.

What color do you recommend? Go crazy with your suggestions - I'm open to anything not black, white, beige, grey or brown.

Do I want the cream polish or the dye kit?

Oh, my!! Those will be so much fun, Sylvie. And what good luck to pick them up when you love 'Vogs so much!

I seem to recall there were versions of this shoe with lighter straps and darker body of the shoe. That could be fun and flattering, depending when you intend to wear it (and whether you will wear tights). Do you envision them as mainly fall/winter or spring/summer?

Fern: I could get behind Cobalt - that would be the Daphne color.

Suz: These will be year round shoes for me but I envision wearing them with socks and jeans more often than with tights. I won't wear them with bare feet.

Oooh, I could do antique silver with limon straps (silver and yellow) which would be sort of space-y. Though that might be a bit much for some people's tastes.

Antique silver would be awesome too - don't know if I can support the limon straps - too ALGO for me on already detailed shoes.
I tried these on - or the same family - in the gray color. Sadly they ran too narrow, but silver would've been even better.

I would like them if you just dyed the inner bits (not toe, heel or straps) cobalt. Alternately the toes and heels in silvery gold and leave black on rest.

@Fern: That's too bad the shoes were too narrow for you - do you have wide feet? I'm an 8.5W and I'm quite comfortable in a 9.

@JJ: That sounds like a great way to partition them.

@Suz: Thanks for checking in on the project. I'm going to let my thoughts percolate for a bit - I am nothing if not a slow decision maker. Still leaning towards yellow, antique silver and/or cobalt blue. I suspect at some point the correct decision will become obvious.
