Flats dilemma and some good news

First the good news - I got the job with the babysitting agency! I still have to wait for a family that wants me as a babysitter but I'm hoping someone will soon. Thanks for all the interview outfit advice and good wishes

The second good news is that in celebration, I'm extending that teeny tiny budget of mine to get 2 pairs of shoes this month - the yellow oxfords and a pair of flats from yesterday's post. I'm just not sure whether to get black or bronze snakeskin.

I was thinking of black since it bookends my hair. I also have just 2 pairs of black shoes, one of which is a heeled oxford I hardly wear and a pair of black flats that needs to be replaced.

The bronze snakeskin ones are gorgeous, darker than my metallic loafers and are likely to go with almost everything. I also love the subtle print. It is the cooler option of the two as well.

So what should I do? Go for black and fill a wardrobe hole? Or is the bronze as much of a neutral, even if it doesn't bookend? Also, is a metallic shoe a better option for summer?

Congratulations!! Very good news.

The black flats that need to be replaced - do you reach for them a lot? If yes and they need replacing this very minute, go with black.
But I will tell you I wear my metallic flats way more than my black. Because they are a neutral/solid with pizazz, like jewelry for your toes. I love especially if I am wearing a coat so my top is covered but my feel are still a little snazzy.

I would go for the bronze. It blends so well with your skin I think it works as a nude and neutral on you. Whenever I listen to logic over love with purchases I personally end up disappointed.

Bronze! I wear my pewter metallic more than black. In fact, I donated my black flats a couple of years ago because they were so uninspiring to me. I think that bronze will be a gorgeous match for you--a warm neutral.

Bronze! They are neutral enough to be substituted for black most of the time, and you clearly like them more.

Also, I think bookending is overrated. You can pick up an accent anywhere in an outfit, not just with your hair. I've got light brown hair and I don't own a single pair of light brown shoes (or anything even close).

Bronze, for versatility and matching your personal colouring as well as preferences. What I figure is that with the bright saturated shades you love to wear so much, the black may end up looking too harsh and heavy; I think bronze will jibe better with them.

As a test, see if you can find two paint swatches to lay against the most-worn items in your wardrobe and see?

If you are trying to fill the wardrobe hole only and if you think you will get the maximum cost per wear then go for black. Otherwise bronze flats are also versatile and will act as neutral. You can buy the bronze now and after your first salary with this job (:-P), you may go for black. Blacks are common colors and can be found often but not those gorgeous bronze and comfortable one.
