I've been thinking about all of the talk about jean silhouettes. Flares are back in, I suppose, but I've never really stopped wearing them. I'm probably an unknowing fashion victim. Ha ha! I haven't seen many others wearing flares either, although the weather just started getting cool here, so there is still hope! Oh well, this is a typical outfit for me. I threw in a little leopard too.

Navy jeans: Gap 1969 High rise trouser flares. I like them in that they are fitted through the thigh and flare from the knee down.
Sweater: Eileen Fisher
Boots: Marc Fisher

Nice! I like how you paired the flares with the hi-lo top; it gives movement to the ensemble.

I am trying to find a pair of flares myself. I'm short, so it can be difficult. As you noted, you need the jeans to be fitted through the thigh and start to flare at the knee, so things can look "off" if you just hem.

I saw a pair of brown corduroy "baby bootcuts" on the Gap website yesterday but hesitated due to the 20% poly content (poly often makes me sweat). Do your flares have a lot of poly?

Hi Gigi, yes I see what you mean about getting the flare to start in the right place. That's where petite flares may help or a little bit of a heel to elongate the lower part of the leg (from the flare downward)? My flares are 78% cotton, 20% polyester, 2% spandex. I live in a pretty humid climate and they aren't overly warm or uncomfortable in that way.

I'm a fan of the flare's kissing cousin- the boot cut. I own 2 pairs of Express 'barely boot cut' Editor trousers and my 'going out' jeans are a dark wash high waisted flare leg. There is just something so stylish about pointy toe footwear and a flare. It must be the 'legs a mile long' look.

Great outfit! The sweater style is a great choice for the jeans.

I am a flair/boot cut fan. Skinny jeans and crops seen to be hard to find for my curves.

I like this look and how the scarf is draped to the back.

I wear boot cuts all the time. Mine are Levis curvy fit from Kohls. I love that there is no waist gap.

What a gorgeous outfit! Love your addition of a bit of leopard. You look amazing in flares. I am also on the team and never stopped wearing flares (or bootcuts) and am thrilled that they are back on trend. Those styles are so flattering on a lot of women... me included. Most of my current flared jeans are from American Eagle Outfitters (Artist Flares).

Great outfit! I love the leopard print scarf with your sweater. I have boot cuts, not flares. I like flares, but I rarely wear the bootcuts so I don't think I have enough occasions for flares.

They look amazing on you. I never gave mine up. The only downside is attention to PPL and hems getting wet/dirty in bad weather.

I have never given up my bootcut jeans and if I could ever find a flare jean that fits my shape and my height (without having to hem all of the fun flare off the jean) I'm snatch them up. The flares look lovely on you.
