As I said in a previous post, I'm NOT yet ready to wear flares/bootcuts again (except for dress trousers) and don't know how I'd wear them... but I know I'll want to in the future, maybe F/W, so I want to experiment and see if I can get in a groove with them. Need to make them feel more "new" to me. Possibly thinking either tunics or cropped tops to make them feel 2014 and not 1999. Probably more difficult since I was wearing bootcuts to work through... 2011?
1-2 are AE high waisted flares, regular length. Perfect for a 2" heel but no higher. The "high" rise only comes just below my belly button, so on regular people it won't be a true high rise. Wider flare and obvs. higher waist than I ever wore the first time flares were in.
3-6 is a Young Fabulous & Broke chiffon version in XS. I also ordered a S, but those look more like a wide leg, which I'm not as excited about. I like that the foldover waistband would allow me to adjust the rise and wear with either shorter or longer tops. However, the chiffon is not as sheer as I was envisioning, and they'd have to get hemmed, even for my highest of high heels. #7 was my inspiration for getting these.
What are your thoughts? Are either of these worth keeping around to work with?
