Less than two months to the end of an unprecedented year that has imposed so many challenges on health - both physical and mental, so I’m asking again - how are you doing?
Despite scaling back on my fitness routine, markers of health have remained good! Heart rate, blood pressure, body composition, have all remained at - or close to - what they were before Covid related activity restrictions created obstacles to working out. In response to a sensitive gut, I have all but eliminated alcohol and caffeine from my diet. I was hoping it would translate to better sleep, but I am still plagued by interrupted nights.
Covid is a problem in Canada, however the community where I live is managing well, and we are avoiding a complete lockdown. Planning for the coming dark months (in the northern hemisphere) I’ve lined up doable home projects and hobbies sufficient to keep me busy and (feeling) productive while maintaining the social restrictions that will keep me, and the people I care for - safe. Holiday celebrations have always been modest immediate family only affairs, so no change there.
I hope you are all well and finding your way through or around the challenges that have been thrown at you in 2020. Please do share your thoughts, feelings, plans and coping strategies for sustaining your fitness, health and wellbeing through the remainder of this year.
