Thanks all for the excellent input! I've declared these t-shirts a successful purchase after careful testing
- wore one around the house doing regular tasks with tags
- removed tags from one to test further
- and now removing tags from all
I decided I really like the slightly shorter-but-not-short length; in fact, I will look for this length in other items. It hits at about my hip so it's easy to semi-tuck but also works untucked, without looking overly long. I can raise a hand above my head without much midriff issue, and I haven't felt the urge to fuss or pull down at all.
I'm excited I now have an idea of my size in Everlane tops; I will feel more confident with future purchases from there as I like the brand's aesthetic a lot - it's personal style and lifestyle appropriate for me (if a little pricey for my budget, but since it carries a lot of my personal essentials, I would expect good longevity from careful purchases from them.
Suntiger, interesting point about the stripes - I think that a Breton stripe is probably more classic for me, but I love a bold stripe like this providing other elements aren't over the top ... I have a long sleeve t with a similar stripe that I enjoy; it's got some energy to it, I find. However, I would consider getting this in a more classic stripe too (never too many stripes after all!)
