It's a great looking summer dress. How is the happiness factor? I liked it when Angie listed it in picks but thought it would be too short.

This is the same dress Thistle tried, right? It's a nice dress, but from a figure flattery perspective I'm not sure the optical illusion of white waist and dark elsewhere is ideal. Not sure if it matters to you to look as small-waisted as possible though ...

Debbie, I think it is beautiful! Something make me want to pop a skinny black belt on it though. I find the lighter expanse at the mid section of the dress creates the need for some waist definition. What do you think?

Hmmm. I think I'm like Cinnamon Fern. I really really want to like the dress and I think that Deborah's suggestion of a waist defining belt is a really good one, but... I'm not sure this dress is worthy of you. I think your body shape is a lot like mine, so I think I have a reaction to this based on my feelings and experiences with this shape of dress. I don't have a super defined waist. I love the look of fit and flare or skim and flare (as in skim your body and flare on the bottom) on others. When I put them on, as heartbreaking as it is for me to admit it, they're never a true winner. I might even buy them, but after the initial crush is over, they languish in my closet. Ultimately, both my eye and my brain know that a basic sheath or a sack dress shape work so much better for me. The first defines a waist for me and the second makes you imagine a waist. So, I think this looks okay, but I think there are dresses out there that are more deserving of a home in your closet.

ETA: I just went back and saw you in this NAS dress. Holy wow! You + that dress = FAN-TAS-TIC! Perfectly illustrates the point. This dress? Okay. That dress? Oh yeah, it totally gets you. You are smokin' in that one, babe!

I find dresses with light areas at my waist never do me any favors. I love the overall shape and pattern, just wish that white weren't right there.

I'm with San, Joy and Debs.

To be fair, I think the flash has overexposed the light area of the pattern in the midsection and accentuated its lightness in the photo. I've seen the dress on a few ladies irl - apple shaped ladies included - and it was flattering.

That said Debbie, you have to wear it and love it. Think about it a little, and return if you don't feel it's a 10.

Nice dress, but I had the same reaction as some others, no matter who is wearing it. Why is the white focus at the waist? I find myself mentally switching the pattern. It is not clear to me if the effort to address this with stylings will pay off as I lack the vision. It is a beautifully shaped dress with a nice length.

How do you feel about it? I like to see you in colors like the other NAS dress more than in black and white. And my very, very, VERY favorite thing I've seen on you are those red print pants. . . .

I am not in love with it on you. I returned mine as I was not happy with the white middle and black edges, giving the opposite of an hourglass look. So, I am biased against the dress. I also didn't have any toppers that worked with it right now, and I won't wear sleeveless in the fall or winter (not usually even the summer as everything here is air conditioned). I have learned the hard way that finding toppers later is really hard.

Pretty dress as such, and it looks very nice on you, but I am not crazy about the white part in the middle. I'd like to see more options with the styling.
