Fabric: knit from bf's sister's not-quite-discard box. (She buys fabric, has it sent to his place, then packs up what she likes when she visits. The rest is apparently shop-able.)
Goal: to get acquainted with bf's sewing machine, with directions from his sister via FaceTime, within limits of my patience and coordination bandwidth
Ideal: floor-length lounge skirt with enough wrap to keep air out, to cover my legs when I'm curled up on sofa.
Result: it's really comfortable, gives plenty of coverage without feeling bulky. While I like the freedom of movement of a wrap skirt, I have a poison eye for the usual front overlap. This construction, with main overlap starting at back center and opening just forward of side, gets around that. *I* don't have to look at it!
Not sure how a black skirt fits with the lounge capsule I've nearly completed, but that's a challenge for another week.
