First of the Month - Are you in or out?

Anyone jumping on the SYCloset/SYBudget/SYSales wagon? I know some people are off the wagon.

I'm SYS since October 1 and have had a surprising amount of luck with resales. Going to keep stockpiling the proceeds and hope to have everything resold by the end of the year when I plan to end SYS and begin a new endeavor I am formulating for the entire year of 2012.

I'm in. Seems my SYC attempts eventually end up with my SYB instead, but it's not for lack of trying!

I had great luck with SYC in October and am going to keep going in November, with the following exception: I am lusting after a pair of cognac boots at Nordstrom and if they go on sale tomorrow I will probably pull the trigger.

Okay, I know this is a SYC thread and it is in poor form to enable, but Nordstrom already has the Half-Year Sale items marked down on their website. They might mark some down tomorrow as well since Wednesday is their normal markdown day, but they did 100s of items on Monday.

I'm still doing ok (I started October 1), but I'm weakening. My Nordstrom basket is filling up, and like MK I am craving cognac boots. Also, some animal print...

I returned a faux fur vest (purchased before SYC) in October and purchased another possibility (a cheaper one) as a replacement...but I don't think that counts? hehe

Bummer, MaryK! I will keep my fingers crossed that they mark down more items tomorrow. It looks like almost everything from the NAS sale that hadn't been remarked down is now at NAS prices or lower.

I'm on for the month of Nov for SYC. I almost made it through October, only cracked one day with 3 items purchased. I just picked up what I hope is a keeper long sleeve dress which can be my one item for Nov. The hardest part will be lasting through the after Thanksgiving Day sales without cracking.

Well, "my" boots weren't marked down, but another fab pair were marked down so I ordered 'em both and will decide which one to keep. Also found a beautiful silk Rachel Roy blouse that fits beautifully in my new "spend more money for FAB pieces" strategy, marked down to half price, so pulled the trigger on that. And with that, I think I am back on SYC.

I'm in (er, first of THIS month? or can I start tomorrow?). I've done so much damage this month it's not even funny, but I really need to take a breather. The only thing I NEED is some layering tops, per my lightbulb moment!

I've been on a little bit of a spree the last few weeks, but I'm going to quit soon. There is one pair of boots on eBay as well as a pair of crazy checked trousers that I am trying to decide whether or not to buy, but I think after those items are over with I won't buy anything again until I start looking for a dress to wear to graduation! Except jeans. My jeans situation is reaching a critical point. I'm going to check out another store on Friday and see if I can find a pair that will work for the winter.

And after all this shopping is done, I'll do SYC. Promise.

I have been SYS my entire life

I think I shall continue; I have been yuck SYC for awhile. At least my sister enjoys her Coach bag.

I though this "first of the month" thing was a period thing. :p

Update: one of the blouses in my Nordstrom basket is now sold out, which removes a major SYC temptation. Nothing else in the basket feels so important now.

I'm feeling stronger....but I might need a pair of cognac boots and maybe a scarf, or two. I'm going to try to hold out until December 1, though. That way I'll have made it two months.
