I'm not sure I can give you enough information. I bought these shoes on the weekend. I love how funky/cool they are, but they were also very expensive. http://www.neosens.com/shop-on.....;gen=WOMEN

I am almost 40 years old. I work in a very casual office in a scientific and managerial capacity. My company's clients are law firms. My personal life tends to dinners on the town (downtown) and movies in the 'burbs.

I wouldn't have been hesitating if they were say a half of th price. But at that kind of money: will I get enough wear out of them? Are they too "fetish"-ey? Are they too "out there" for my mostly suburban/conservative life? Are they too trendy to wear occasionally for the next few years?

How would you style them so that they don't seem so "in your face"?

Or, am I just being too sensitive?

That's such a unique statement shoe!

My first instinct is to ask where you live... I would not think twice about wearing those in a very casual office or to a dinner on the town, but then I live in LA. Your downtown might be more conservative than what I think of when I think "downtown."

STILL, I feel strongly that, if you keep the rest of the outfit simple, these can look very chic and sophisticated. I don't see them as trendy at all, but more of an art piece that will continue to make a statement no matter what year it is.

They are lovely a real statement. Like rae said i think they will work if you keep the rest of the outfit simple personally i would wear them more for mights out but if you think you could incorporate them into your work wardrobe then go for it x

OMG, they are beeautiful! I agree with the other ladies, as long as the rest of the outfit is pretty simple, I think these are a great statement piece, like a great cocktail ring or neclace.
