I am very excited about this crazy little maximalist jacket I just ordered from Zara, and so eager to see it and try it on in person. But I fear my expectations will be dashed. It won't fit or it will look ridiculous or it will look cheap. It's actually from their TRF -- juniors -- line, and I am numerous multiples of the age this is undoubtedly intended for. So I ordered up in size and am trying two sizes.

I like the jacket!
I'm intersted in how you will style it. Usually I am wont to go the conservative ( read, " chicken" ) route and keep all the other parts of the outfit classic and not so trendy. OTOH it could be spot on to go with something similar to the stock photo and play off the richly colored decoration and spunky style.
I think one concept that would guide me is that the other items should be " classy" whether or not exactly classic. Good fabrics and leather. I think this is similar to Angies " grounding in classics" but recognizes that classic- style clothing might still be rendered in poor quality.

Funny! I was just in a Zara store today and happened to notice it hanging. I did not closely examine it, but it looks like a good product, and visually striking.

If I were young, I'd style it much as shown. But since I definitely am not, I hope to go the classic route. I am thinking black skinnies and tall boots or booties and a black turtleneck as the primary look. That's assuming the jacket works for me at all. If the closest Zara weren't an hour away, I would have gone to the store to check it out. But the one coming near me isn't open yet, so I anxiously await receiving my shipment.

Although the model is 'young', I don't think the styling is age specific. I think you could style it similarly, OC, and look, well, very chic!

The jacket arrived, and I LOVE it! It's quite heavy in weight; in fact, the tag describes it as "outerwear." It seems well-made, for fast fashion. It's certainly on-trend, and it does not look cheap. Now that I see it in person, I think there will be numerous ways to style it. I like Momo's suggestion a lot.

If anyone else is interested in ordering this jacket, and if you have a bust, I do advise sizing up. I will just cut the tag out of mine so that I am not demoralized

I'm so glad the fabric has a good heft, because the design is adorable, and very much on-trend, without screaming "junior" at all. I love it, and am tempted by it for myself, (always attracted to military jackets) but it really seems perfect for your style. When I was in Spain this Spring, I stopped in a Zara store, and was impressed by the quality and inventiveness of their embroidered items. Like this jacket, they reminded me of interesting, one-of-a-kind vintage pieces. A great find!
