Finally, a midi I want! Why are they all so $$$?

The idea of a midi appeals to me, but the only dresses I like are far out of my price range.
Has anyone found some good ones?

I love the print on that dress and could definitely picture someone pairing it with a denim jacket and chunky nude heels for spring. I'm still extremely anxious about the midi trend, though, since I'm only 5'2". It's one of those trends I might need to warm up to in regards to applying it to my own closet, but I admire it on others.

I think it's so funny that all of a sudden mid-length skirts and dresses are *all the rage*! I've been buying them for years because I never wear anything that is above the knee, and I get all of mine thrifting for a mere few bucks! My closets full of them!

I think the dress is gorgeous! Love that print. I wonder: if you are liking the column silhouette (vs. the fit-and-flare), maybe you could find a maxi and have it chopped off into a midi? There sure are lots of maxi dresses around, so you might be able to find one that's relatively inexpensive.

As I am sure that you know Twenty8Twelve is Sienna Miller's boutique range. It is carried by lots of UK based shops so it might be worth having a hunt on this side of the virtual pond.

I do wonder how popular this trend will be and if it stays "high fashion" rather than "high/main street" that there will be a few in the sales. Sice you have a 6 month summer you may do well.

But you're right about the price. I've noticed that JCP and Macy's have a slew of dresses in ALL lengths. Time to shop!

I think what appeals to me about this one is the print (I'm not a print person generally) and the more fitted silhouette.
I wore "midi" skirts growing up (because it's all I COULD wear) so perhaps that's making me more picky about the shapes.

Hm, maybe it would be easier to find a maxi and have it hemmed? That trend seems to have been around longer, so maybe there would be more of a print/price variety available. I've found all my midis through thrifting and Ebay, but if you're picky about fit, then that could be more trouble than it's worth.

Another thought, do you keep an eye on The Outnet (http://www.theoutnet.com/), Net-a-porter's discount site. I know that they stock this line at very good prices. You are so slim that your size will probably be available too.

Killer gorgeous dress. I see it's from the pre-fall collection. What the heck is pre-fall?

I am starting to think I'll be waiting until NAS to score a midi dress or skirt. Hopefully the designers are making them for fall, if not for spring/summer!
