Final White Blazer Post - help me choose?

Sized up on the linen blazer, and it helped the shoulder fit a lot. #1-2

But I put the sale suiting fabric blazer on one last time, and now I'm not sure. #3

I would like to be done and start wearing a white blazer already! lol

UPDATE: Well, the tag on #3 literally snapped off on my shirt while trying it on again, so I guess I'm stuck with that one for sure (at least it was the cheaper one). Still interested in whether the linen is a good idea, though.

oh man what a hard choice. There's something about #3 that I find more appealing - maybe it's slightly longer and has a more 'elegant' line to it?

Ooh, that is tough. I like them both, but they are a quite similar vibe. Can you use both? If you're anything like me with my recent black jacket(s) purchase, you will get plenty of use from each, but part of me thinks they should be more different from one another to justify keeping both. But take that with a grain of salt, coming from the woman who may be keeping the Love Story jeans which are nearly identical to the Gap flares I already own...

OTOH, one is linen and the other not, which probably means they look more different IRL than they do in photos. I think they both look great on you. Aw heck, I'm no help at all, am I?

Either would be fantastic. I like the rounded corners of the linen. I also think, like Janet, that especially later the linen is going to start looking different than it does now. If you're going to sport the white in winter (and why not) are you going to be happy with a linen look then? It depends on what you want, super summery or year round fabness.

For looks alone I like the longer leaner vibe of 3 and the sharp front rather than curved.

Somehow, I think 3 is the better...I guess I am wondering about the linen...You look great in both but there is a touch more interest in 3...Since I believe in coincidences, maybe the tag falling off was a sign...

The gods are telling you to keep the blazer in #3.

For my part, I like them both, but I really like something about the collar in #3, and the way it lies around the neck and down the front.

Tough one. They both look great but do look pretty similar from here at least. I guess you should ask:
--Do you see this as more of a warm-weather piece or would you want the option to wear in the cooler months too? Linen is really summery, might look out of place in a cold weather ensemble. But on the other hand it would be more comfortable in summer, and it IS your dominant season.
--Are you going for crisp (suiting) or a little more rumply/RATE (linen)?

I think if it was me, I'd go for linen. My white blazer is not linen, but is a softer, less crisp material as well. Really crisp white blazers kind of make me feel like a waiter, LOL. But keep in mind I'm not a crisp blazer kind of person.

Well, I'm glad that #3 is getting love. The first time I posted it, I don't think anyone liked it much. Rolling the sleeves must have helped.

I guess I should return the linen one... it would be nice to have both for very active days at work, but yeah, that is a luxury. I think I will wear #3 today!

Good choice. I think the shape of 3 is so sharp and crisp, and it really suits you, I like the longer length too.

Maybe the linen one will go on sale They both look really nice on you but have to agree with the others who prefer the crispness of the suiting.

I wasn't sure about #3 before but somehow it looks right now - I think it just looks more polished and elegant. My linen blazer is fun and light, but it is always wrinkled within 15 mins. and I live with it, but don't love the fact.

I'll be a spanner and say that I think #1 is more "Rae," at least from what I know of your style. #3 looks great, but it is a little more dressy and sophisticated and classic, whereas I feel like your style has a little more quirkiness about it, something a bit unusual or unexpected.

I am also wondering about the "hotness" level. The linen one might be cooler--unless it has a poly lining or something. I would see whether the fabrication of one or the other would make a more practical purchase.

I do think that the two jackets are so similar that I wouldn't keep both. I think that you would always reach for one over the other in your closet.

I think #3 is a little more 'formal' but you can pair it with things that twist that. I think the cut, bottom corners etc. looks sharper and hence cooler.

Linen to my mind is one of those things that unless it's shapeless to begin with always wrinkles the way you don't want it too, back creases and weirdness around the collar and other frustrating things, So #3 seems likely to be more easy to wear in that way too (as long as it isn't too hot).

Also the outfit with the skirt, shoes and jacket is very nice

I'm glad the tag came off #3, because I prefer it on you. It seems to me it will work well with a lot of different types of skirts and pants.

By the way, I was driving downtown in my city today and saw an extremely-stylishly dressed young woman who reminded me of you. Her style was remarkably similar to yours, down to her haircut and bag. You weren't by any chance in the midwest today, were you?!

I like #3 the best, so I'm glad the tag came off that one! Linen wrinkles a lot and often doesn't look as nice after a few hours of wear, so that's another good reason for going with #3.

I would have chosen #3 even before I'd read that the tag came off. It is slightly longer, with a more deliberate and squared off hem. It looks more modern and more sleek. And while linen is often comfortable, a jacket in a suiting material will look much more pulled-together IMO, as it will not have the creases and wrinkles that linen will get from bending or even sitting.

Another vote for 3. Its crisp and I think it would ground and create a nice juxtaposition with your other edgy skirts and pants.

Linen blazers wrinkle too much and too fast. For that one reason I won't buy them! Looks frumpy to my eyes. Pants and skirts on the other hand ... I can live with!
