Late to this, but chiming in with empathy if not any extra fashion advice. I've been through this too many times. Lifelong foot problems due to a horse crushing it when I was a teenager...now I'm 65 and my foot is not at all happy with its "significant deformity of the navicular bone", much worse with age and arthritis. And a stretch with a herniated disk about 15 year ago. With that, I thought I was done...really, back pain for about two years.

And yet...I came back to ballroom competition after those two years and am better than ever. I can manage my foot, and red light therapy devices really help since it's a whole lot to do with inflammation.

So, all I want to say with this longwinded answer is...I bet you will recover at some point and get back to the things you want to do. It might not feel like it now, but healing is possible and likely. At least healing to the point of being able to tolerate and manage the situation, if not 100% to the pre-injury point.

As far as shopping, I do think jeans are the meanest clothing item and I don't own any. I just don't like them at all. So I'm agreeing with others to buy a few things that are kind to your body right now and don't let the mean "girls" make you feel worse.
