I worked out this morning, then worked in the yard all afternoon. I just showered and need to got to the grocery store. I've decided that since I squeaky clean now, I'm going out with no make up.

Sveta, interesting question on permanent makeup. I'd like to explore that further and will post separately.

Interesting read! Mmm I suppose I'm in the minority that I have no problem whatsoever leaving the house or being seen without makeup on. These days I am usually wearing only mascara and lip gloss/tinted balm.

Now, that said, my goal is to look very natural because it adds an organic element to my look that is missing from my personal style in terms of clothing. So I do other things regularly for the health and beauty of my face/skin that I certainly wouldn't stop or skip: daily use of SPF moisturizer (no color), professional brow wax every month, LOTS of water to keep my skin hydrated, exfoliate all skin weekly, lavender-based face wash in the shower daily, keep teeth clean (sonicare+mouthwash+floss) and visit dentist regularly.

Perhaps we feel "naked" because we haven't completed our "usual" routine before we leave the house. I feel "naked" when I forget my purse at home. I always carry one and so feel uneasy when I don't have it with me.

It might be the same for us regular make up wearers. It's part of our usual routine and how we prepare ourselves for the day. If I forgot to put on deodorant I might not get smelly cause I'm showered and such, but I darn sure would feel naked! LOL

Make sense?

Kim, it does make sense, but for me that's not it. If I don't put on my under-nose concealer, I feel like my blotchy pink skin is on show for the world to see, and I'm a weeeeee bit vain.

I know this because I leave the house two days out of seven without my mascara on, because for whatever reason I couldn't be bothered that morning, and I don't feel naked. And it REALLY makes a difference when I wear mascara. My eyelashes are blond!

I feel completely naked and not myself without make-up - I wouldn't leave the house without putting on great clothes, so why in the world would I leave without make-up - it's part of my getting dressed and ready, if I don't do my make-up I'm only partial dressed. I like to present the full me pretty much at all times, and make-up is part of me. I don't feel one bit bad about putting my make-up on every day and looking my very best.
