Feedback on floaty dresses. Adding as I shop.

Am currently out shopping and tried on these floaty dresses.
Would love your criticism. Don't hold back, rip in! None are exactly what I want, just trying to learn from the process.
Please excuse bare legs on pic 3 and 9, I would wear leggings in rl.
Eta Adding no 6
ETA 7&8 fits very well but would want a cami . Not sure of colour suitability.
Eta 9 feels very seventies. Bit loose round bust and torso.

I am all about modest necklines, but there is something a little off on the proportions on #1 to my eye. I like 3 and #4 better - a little leg, a little less “little house on the prairie” looks good on you. Congrats on experimenting!!

Thanks for sharing. I am on the hunt for a more floaty patterned dress too - I think 4 and 6 have potential here and are the closest. I think some shaping at the waist is lovely on you.

I really like the first dress but I think it is tricky to style - best with just the right shoes.

I think 2 is a bit swamping of you - as is 5.

I think 3 is a bit short - nothing wrong with your bare legs though.

I went through a similar exercise here about 2-3 years ago - and it was interesting to see what people liked. The funny thing was I didn't buy any of the 16 or so I tried on - but about a month later I found a dress I love to this day, and since that time I have had great luck with several different dresses.

Well each of them are nice, but my favorites are 3,4 and 5.

I like #5, followed by #4 since I like both the colors and the longer length on you. 7/8 seem too dark for this style but it does fit you well. It's always hard to tell from pictures since floaty dresses look best with movement. Fun search!

No. 1 is a tough call for me. This could go beautiful in a Gucci way... or this could go scary in a Jesus-was-an-Alien way...

I like 7/8 fit and shape on you!! I like the dark but it depends what you want, footwear etc.. But this is a gorgeous shape .

Having reviewed all my preference would be for a colorful one, like a red or a pink, no navy or white, a pattern is ok but would prefer not too traditional, so no polka dots or paisley, and no overly girlish details like a ruffled hem.

I like the fit of 4,5, and 7/8 on you. 3 and 9 seem a bit short, though I do love the red. 1 seems to overwhelm you and looks a bit frumpy to me eye. Good luck with your search!

You look beautiful! I like 7/8 on you the most because the fit & length are great and so is the waist definition, but each one has charm. I like 10 a lot, too. Same reasons. Great fit and shape.

I like the florals of 3 and the length of the skirt of 4. Not very helpful. If you want a floral dress, then I think 3, but I'd be checking the length. I think it is the smaller print that I especially like on them. The full blown florals seem may be too big a print.

My favourites are #6 and #10. I like the bright red on you, but with a colour like that, you have to like it too. #10 is beautiful on you. I like how we can see it reflecting in the side mirror, it is a great fit and looks like it would be very pretty in motion. Interestingly, I like the full blown floral, but I recently bought a dress like that myself, so I am sure I am somewhat biased.

Given we are about to go into winter, I think the more somber tones work well with opaque stockings and boots on cold days. I can definitely see these dresses worn with a coat, scarf and boots - so they would work for many months of the year.

Depends on your needs and event! I really loved the red one and the last one for different occasions and moods. Then the 7-8 is also great! All these 3 have potentional to me, one is uni and bright, other a great happy floral and one more silent(and little more serious).

3-4-10 are my favorites on you- the defined waistline looks best....but that’s just my opinion. I would go with comfort and how much wear per cost works for you, have fun shopping

I love the red dress on you. It’s a great color, and I like the waist definition. It has a nice amount of floatiness. It seems hard to find the exact floaty effect one desires when looking at dresses. I use my favorite dress as a personal standard for all other floaty dresses in my wardrobe. Sadly, none of the other dresses have the same quality. I keep looking, but my favorite dress is over 20 years old. I can still wear it, but I pick and choose the occasions because with hope that I can enjoy it and preserve it for as long as possible.
