Federal resume editors

Hyper-specific I know but do you know someone who edits resumes to make them compatible for federal jobs. I just don’t have the bandwidth to tackle this. I need fresh eyes on and frank feedback.

I can’t remember if you’re in the US or not, but if you are- try your local Job Development Board or job center. Ours offers free resume help!

I don't but I have been told in Canada to get through screening your resume should include all the keywords that are in the job description - as the first screening process is based specifically on this. Not sure if this is still accurate or applies to other countries, but it certainly wouldn't hurt Good luck to you or whoever you are giving a hand to!

@Helena, I have heard the same about the US version about getting all the keywords in. Some of the positions have a mere 10 applicants so I am surprised they still use the keywords to filter out people.

I know at least here it's because the rules are so strict to prevent any kind of nepotism or favouritism ... at least until the very end ... there coule prob be only one applicant and they'd still screen I bet!

Interesting. Some US federal jobs are classified as ‘direct hires’ which subvert the normal process. There are also jobs where the application goes directly to the agency. Plus there is always hiring via subcontracts. It’s a zoo!
