I've been editing my closet on and off since July. I started losing weight about then, so it's required a continuous edit as things don't fit anymore, and a few quality items that I kept from 8+ years ago come back into rotation.
I sent a big batch of stuff to Goodwill and Dress for Success late in the summer, and have been putting everything that is in good wearable condition into a holding zone since then.
Today I sorted through my jeans. I did keep three pairs of barely worn ones that I love, but are now too big. I am hoping I don't have to wear them again! But 8 pair went to Goodwill this morning: 5 blue, 2 black, and 1 white.
A bunch of workout wear, golf attire, and summer shorts also came out of my closet. I tossed a much-hated bridesmaid dress with an empire waist that I for some reason kept for 5 years.
The Dress for Success stash in the closet is now 8 tops, 2 blazers, and 4 pairs of pants. DFS is only open twice a month for donations, so I am dropping them off next week. Many of these were purchased earlier this year, and while the size is an issue, some of them were also purchasing mistakes that I only wore a few times before deciding I didn't like them.
Three pairs of shoes that are no longer comfortable and/or no longer fit my needs are also in the "pass on" pile.
