Favourite body lotions?

I’ve managed to get through a lot of stockpiled toiletries/body care products and now it’s time to replenish with new supplies. My quest at the moment is to find a nice body lotion. I have dry skin, and swim 3-4 x per week for fitness - so my skin can get pretty itchy if I don’t lube up!

Do you have a favourite body lotion?

Weleda body lotion is super! I tried the one with almond and wild rose, they both apply well to the skin, leave a nice smell (but not overpowering) and my sensitive skin feels hydrated :). I also love their body oils, but it's more for the summer season.

I’m obsessed with Skin Trip lotion. It’s very light, but does well as an everyday lotion for my dry, sensitive skin. Mostly, though, it smells amazing. Like, AMAZING. A warm, not-too-heavy coconut-vanilla scent.

Plain old Aveeno! The unscented "eczema therapy" and baby versions (they're virtually identical, so I buy whichever one happens to be cheaper when I replenish my stash) are the only products that reliably keep my skin calm in the depths of winter. I've tried other colloidal oatmeal lotions and creams, but always come back to Aveeno.

For hands, feet and lips I like Aquaphor. I go through a big tub every year or so.

Like LaPed, I stick with Aveeno. My skin is sensitive and eczema prone, so it’s my safest choice.

I have been using a homemade flower lotion from my dear aunt, maybe an idea for you since you're an avid gardener too? It's made of marigold petals, EVOO, beeswax, vitamin E, lavender essential oil and water... so smooth and delish!

I like shea body butters, they are nice and rich. Right now my favorites are from Tree Hut, not too expensive and made in the US.

I now use Theraplex Hydro Lotion for face and body based on Angie's Fab Find from August 2020.

CeraVe Itch-Relief when I am going through an 'itchy-scratchy' time. Otherwise I choose from several, depending on what is on sale at the moment, as long as it is unscented.

Trader Joes for me! Their pine one smells really nice, though unfortunately not available all year.

Lubriderm Daily Moisture for Sensitive Skin - a dermatologist recommended it to me decades ago. If you can't find "Sensitive Skin" - the "Daily Moisture Fragrance Free" is good too.

And Aquaphor for heels and elbows.

I've heard good things about CeraVe but haven't tried it.

My default drugstore brand is the Vaseline version with cocoa butter or for a little Can Con, the Shopper’s Drug Mart house Life Brand knock off. LB also does a version of the Cerave tub that seems to be a very close duplicate, which I use on my face. Some of their knock offs are NOT good (too strongly scented, crappy packaging, etc) but I can vouch for these ones.

I like CeraVe. In the winter when my skin is really dry, I mix it with Neutrogena sesame oil. I also swim 2 to 3 times a week and have dry skin.

I love CeraVe, but I splurge occasionally on Kiehl’s Creme de Corps, usually during NAS.

CeraVe does the job and absorbs really well. I find the Kiehl’s a little more moisturizing. There are cheaper options out there, but I love the consistency of the Kiehl’s and it absorbs really well, I find that I can often skip lotion a day after using the Kiehl’s. But, spendy.

Anything skincare I now recommend Dr Dray on YouTube. She is a Board certified dermatologist and also has a PHD. She knows a lot about ingredients and will recommend good products (she tends to recommend cerave, cetaphil etc). She has some cruelty free recommendations like Ceramedx.

I tried a lot of the natural and organic stuff and I was finding often the essential oils were making me react. I have super sensitive skin so I've dialled it back this year (though I'm always drawn to all the luxurious organic plant oils so have to keep myself in check haha)

Anything rich and thick - and currently Sol de Janeiro’e Brazilian and /or Coco Cabana Bum Bum Cream ( Sephora ) . The scent is divine

Gold Bond is my go-to for body. I like ceraVe for my face. My boys use Aveeno.

Something light and without much perfume ( natural smell as a preferred one - sensitive skin/sensitive nose ). Something from drugstore - Eucerin.

I like Cerava but my new obsession is BumBum cream. It is thick and feels lite and it smells wonderfully.

CeraVe (first choice) then Aveeno, then Aquaphor. Not a lotion, but I like SeaCrest salt and oil rub for any dry skin.

I like Kiehls creme de Corps but unfortunately it’s really expensive so l use Aveeno ,nivea or neutragena especially the oil in cream ones ,for every day.
