Faux leather leggings and Helmut Lang top - new and styled

I got the leather leggings a week ago and didn't have time to post them as both kids got the flu. Again. That's over now though.

They are really long, the first 3 or 4 pics show them fully un rolled with lots of scrunch. Then I tucked them under in the rest of the pics. I think I may have them hemmed. I really want to wear them with the Josef Siebel Caspians I just ordered because I like them to give more of a edgy vibe then a sexy vibe. They are also not skin tight, but that's ok with me. I like them with my floral top, it mixes edgy and feminine well.

Also showing the Helmut Lang top in the last 2 pics that I just ordered. It shipped extra fast, yay! I love it, it feels great. I put it with blue jeans here to show you some contrast, but I think I will like it better with black, or my dark grey loose jeans, or the new lighter grey plaid jeans I have coming.

I seem to have cut my head off in a few photos here...my self timer skills were off today. Suggestions or comments?

My favorite is the pairing with the polka dot blouse (#5 and 6). The soft fabric looks beautiful with the leggings, and it works untucked and half-tucked. So pretty.

Those leggings look fantastic on you Rae - the fit looks absolutely beautiful. I think a bit of hemming might make them a little more versatile as you've mentioned.

And the Helmut Lang top - positively delicious!

I love the leggings, they fit you perfectly! The scrunch is actually nice and adds to the edgyness. I also like your Helmut Lang top and think it might go better with the more fitted bottoms you have on- both the faux leather leggings and the blue denim than with a looser fit.

Perfect fit! Just beautiful with every option! I would love to see a jacket or necklace with #4. Do you like the scrunch? It is a lot of texture. Since you asked for suggestions - I would suggest going ahead with hemming a bit.

Wow, these are GORGEOUS pieces. You look fantastic in the leggings. I do think hemming a bit might be a good idea, especially if you want to wear with the sneakers, too.

LOVE the top, too. It's just right. Can I ask where it came from? I am looking for summer tops, too.....

Suz and Ceit, here is the link, Canadian site too, so free shipping and fast. No free returns though, but they do have great garment measurements to help with sizing. I will say when I first put it on I thought oh no it's a bit small, but the inner silk lining is stretch and more fitted, as you can see the outer drapes as it should on the model. So in that sense it's TTS since I took my normal XS. I think if you have slightly larger bust or hips, it might be wise to go one size up though. I'll let you click on the link for the sticker shock though.....this was my higher end piece out of my spending. I looked for a long time for a cheaper version of this, but nothing came close. The assymettry and drape was important to me.

The pants look great, definitely hem a bit. I like it best when you're tucked into the pants as in image six. You must show off your fantastic flat stomach and tiny waist. Try unzipping the Phillip Lim top a bit for another look too!

The HL shirt looks great on you. I agree it was a bit smaller than I had anticipated. It is quite fitted over the one side. I was debating if I should send it back, but my husband decided it was his new favourite shirt. LOL

LOVE everything about these outfits! You look amazing in all of them, and the styling is impeccable. I have do admit that I am a bit envious, as I have the same HL top on my wishlist and have been wanting black leather skinnies for a while, but none are realistic for me. I personally prefer the leggings scrunched, but I think I am in a minority.

I love #2 and #4! Those are KILLER to my eye. I like the loose long soft top with them best. Fab juxtaposition because they do look quite tight to me.

I prefer the scrunch on the leggings too.

Thanks for all the replies. I am thinking I could hem the leggings just a bit to keep scrunch and still be able to tuck them under an inch or too. They seem to stay in place really well just tucked.

For those that asked, the pants are BCBG, I got them on eBay though for $40. I think they go for $138, but I'm not sure if this model is around stores anymore. They are faux, but have no smell and they are really soft inside! Yes Angie, they are definitely tight, I just meant they do have fold and looseness in places unlike when I see them online and they are perfectly smooth. But I don't mind that, even though I do like the smooth look too. It's a little less overtly sexy to me this way, and I like that.

Good idea Rute! I will need to get white jeans, but I did see a really cute pair at Joe Fresh yesterday for only $29. Gotta love clothes shopping at the grocery store, lol!
