faux leather jacket- cannot decide, too shiny and fake??

I am going back and forth on this jacket. I like the fitted quality and the style. Is it too shiny and fake looking? I have almost brought it back a zillion times and then tried it on and liked the fit again. The fitted sleeve is hard to find.

Only 10 rating will do. Is Jack BB Dakota a good brand?

It's a bit hard to see. There isn't much jacket showing in the pic. Do you think you could also post a pic with it zipped up and maybe even a back view?

I like it, Jean. And I love the sweater too!
I recently purchased a faux leather jacket that looked plastic. Yours doesn't. It has some texture which helps.

BB Dakota is a good brand - I see it in boutique stores here that also sell Free People and premium denim, etc. From what I can see, it looks great. Also, your hair is SO pretty.

Personally I think it's supposed to be shiny - that's part of the look. I like it quite a lot. I vote keep.

I was saying it may seem shinier than usual under the camera's flash. Personally, I agree with medusa. Keep!

From what I can see, I like! But the flash is making it hard to evaluate the actual texture of the material.

The jacket looks great, no wonder you can't part with it, Jean. It's hard to judge the texture from the picture. In my experience with the brand, they have good designs and quality is usually OK - but I have no idea about their pleather. I love the outfit with the sweater and the necklace, very pretty!

I have looked at your jacket three times before posting. I LOVE IT, it does not look like leather, nor does it look like pleather. It looks sort of waxed and certainly does not look cheap.

If you want your jacket to look leather then I would pass but if you want an interesting texture then keep.

Jean I have never heard of brand, and think it is really difficult to comment on the quality of material without seeing and feeling it. Having said that the fit is great, and the overall style looks great! It doesn't look cheap in your pic at all, so go with your gut on the feel of the material. How do you like wearing it?

BB Dakota is a good brand. For reference, it's one of the more affordable brands that's sold on shopbop.com and revolveclothing.com (high-ish end online boutiques--not net-a-porter.com but not mall stores, either). Like Laura, I've also seen it at independent brick & mortar boutiques.

(It's currently enjoying a little bit of press for making the sweatshirt/jacket Bella wore in Twilight.)
