Faux Leather Jacket: Brown vs Black

I'm thinking about buying a faux leather jacket from Express but I don't know whether I should go with black or cognac. Black just seems classic to me but it also looks a little harsh sometimes. I like the cognac but it looks a little retro to me. I don't know if it will age as well as the black. Any thoughts?

Both are cute and would serve different purposes in your wardrobe. Can you try them both on and see which you are drawn to? I often buy 2 and then post pics for the forum. I learn so much from the comments. I then return one.

P.S. I have a faux leather cognac jacket from Express and really love it (from a couple of years ago.) Then this year I bought a black leather jacket at the NAS sale. Both are great.

Do you have other leather jackets (faux or real)? What color is your hair? They both look nice.

Wow...both are great! If I were you, I'd make my choice based on what is in my closet and my skin tone.

Thanks for the advice! I'm a brunette and fairly pale for reference. I have no leather jackets currently.

A lot of times I feel faux leather doesn't look so great in black, but in this case, I think it's got an edge on the brown.
