For your climate I think this is a classic! It could be amazing. Definitely worth a try if it has free shipping and returns.

I think Angie had faux fur vest on her list for fall .
I find that they are a nice layering piece and this one would look good with the colors in your wardrobe.

celia - You know what? You're absolutely right. She did have faux fur toppers on there. I guess it also hits the 70s and maximalism trends.

Jenn, our realtor in Boulder wore a vest similar to the one you picture last winter and looked elegant but cozy. I think it is perfect for dressing up or down and for the more mild winter days. That color will look fab fall through spring.

What a cool idea...to have a signature item selected. I've never thought to do that. I suppose my pleather jacket and snood was mine this winter but I never thought to look for signature items ...you've inspired me to look for spring/summer signature items.
Anyhow I think the vest is very cool. I had a similar vest on pinterest inspiration this morning. I'll think you'll find it really handy and it will definitely glam up your outfits. From what I've seen of your style it will definitely merge well.
