Ok, another wardrobe problem. I'm always on the lookout for some sort of little short jacket or bolero type thing to wear with dresses to formal events. What I have in mind, really, is a jacket made of some sort of stiff woven material with a stand-up collar, rather than the knit shrugs which have been everywhere the last few years. I am not very keen on the tie-front style, either. To me the ties seem to get in the way of whatever you are wearing underneath.
Anyway, I'm going to a wedding in mid-September and plan to wear a dress with a somewhat 50s feel to it. It has a slightly puffy skirt (black with cream flowers embroidered on it) and a fitted black wrap-style top. I've been looking for something suitably formal to wear on my shoulders, since I'm pretty sure it will be chilly. Rather than just draping myself with a black pashmina, I thought about getting this (inexpensive) faux fur bolero I saw on ebay to go with it.
It seems like it might be a one-hit wonder, but does anyone have some ideas as to how I could wear such an item in a more casual setting, too? I have included the not-so-good photo of the jacket from the ebay auction.
