This may have been my most fast and disciplined NAS ever. I went in with a few rules (no grey! I don’t need coats!or work shoes!). My sales associate picked everything off my wish list she could get in store and was ready with ordering info for anything not in store but still available.
Nopes
As often happens, the items I was most excited about from the preview didn’t make the cut. The Vince Camuto suit is made of a very stretchy material and I would prefer something with more structure and the whole suit together read a little David S Pumpkins IYKWIM. The Nordstrom Signature cashmere hoodie was very nice but just not for me once I tried it on. I found the Madewell polo a bit scratchy though otherwise well made.
Winners
I said there was a 10% chance I’d end up with a flowered shirt, but this shirt made the cut, puffy sleeves and all. It’s 100% cotton and looked good half tucked into the black wide legged pants I was wearing. I do have to unbutton the sleeves because they’re too short for me buttoned. My sales associate pulled the EF mock neck tunic, because I’d tagged other items in the collection that the store didn’t have. To my surprise, I liked it. She ordered me the matching skirt and cardigan, so we’ll see.
I also grabbed this small purse which I need for work travel, the skirt I saw thanks to Laura, this awesomely cozy lounging set, and a pair of sneakers in a brand that worked really well for me last year. I’m also trying these P448s because they get such good reviews. I need to try them on with the right socks to see if they’re keepers. And I gave in a nice causal olive green dress because I love olive green and its availability is very cyclical.
An unusual sale in that I didn’t buy coats, jeans, non-sneaker shoes, or even pants. I was interested in pants, but nothing fit my needs or wants. All in all, a successful sale, and no gray! Eating up the earth tones while they’re trending.
Thanks for listening - happy shopping.
ETA Saturday
I’m taking my MIL to the sale today so team wear reporting for duty. The skirt is a bit longer than I may have implied so wanted to share a pic on my 5’6” long waisted self. Also wearing the sneaks and purse. A bit bummed that my iPhone Max Pro only fits in either closed part bag not in the open slot between them but it’s safer that way I suppose. A slightly smaller phone would fit.
The P448s are going back today. The heel slips and I think a half size would be crowded, plus i am suspicious the last won’t work for me so not worth trying a size down. Hope this helps!
