Fashion Resolutions for 2013?

Anybody have any plans for 2013? I'll start-
Resolved, to rid my closet of older, more expensive items that no longer suit my needs or my style.

To continue with my ethical buying plan.
To work out a workable modification of my 12 in 12 plan
and to not buy things that the forum likes but I feel are not quite right! (sorry guys!)

Resist buying items that I think flatter me but that I don't need! Why does everyone else seem to be picky and have resistance when every cell in my body screams "buy!" when I try something on? The shopping genie has escaped from the bottle!

And yes, must wear what I have in the closet. Must buy tickets to concerts and the ballet so I have somewhere to go.

I want to wear more cheerful color and to plan more "outfits" instead of "'items."

Due to some great sales I orderd red sandals, a venetian green belt and a red belt to help move my casual "uniform" of jeans, chinos, shorts, tees and light weight button downs into more color this spring/summer. I also want to wear and rework more of what I already own into new outfits (some items I've never worn).

And I still want to clean out the remaining items in my closet that I never will wear (there aren't as many thanks to YLF's influence, but there are a few holdouts that need a new home).

My resolutions:

1. Stop buying pants that are allllllllllllllllllllllllllmost long enough but not quite there.
2. Be careful when tucking in tops that strongly contrast with my bottoms. (I'm short-waisted.)
3. Learn to do a semi-tuck.
4. Sew more; buy less.
5. Wear a fabulous hat (really want a fedora)

- No loungewear except to sleep in.
- To try high-heeled pumps with jeans -- so sassy!
- To splurge on an "investment" piece like a handbag -- one that holds at least 50% of its value (if any such thing exists in the fashion world -- this will require some research).
- More bright blue/turquoise because my bf loves it and the forum says it's a good color on me (a new discovery!)

Buy and wear more hats. now that my hair is longer, I am back to wearing hats like I did in the 70's. There are so many cute ones out there now. Oh, and post the pics of them.

Continue to refine my style & edit my wardrobe accordingly.
Buy fewer, better quality items.
Buy mainly for my everyday capsule wardrobe.
Take outfit photos regularly.

-- Give myself permission to spend on flattering gear.

-- Check all future purchases for static cling (important since adopting cream-colored long-haired kitty Miss DuBois).

-- Assess items with a photo while they are still returnable.

-- Get back to sewing; learn how to do my personal full bust adjustment, and alter the side seams of my knit tops.

ETA: Wear everything in my closet, or assess why I am not!

2. Take more pictures; post more WiWs; be more present in, and contribute more to, the YLF community.
3. Shop my Closet; I now have a lot of nice things to wear.
4. Honor the fact that 8 hours of sleep and a bright, genuine smile are my best accessories,.

- Shop thoughtfully by keeping a list of needs/wants, so I know what to look for.
- Shop for my actual life, not my fantasy life.
- Create a summer weekend capsule that is modern & classic but works in 100 degree temps.

Once my style is refined, start shopping for what works and is flattering.

Be willing to invest in high quality basics for the best a high-low possible.

I had six resolutions for 2012 and am happy to say that I met five out of six of them. For 2013, I will 1) Aim for three out of four (color, pattern, texture, and shine) in every outfit to make my day to day looks more interesting and 2) Adopt (commit to wearing) one orphaned wardrobe item per week until I rid my wardrobe of closet orphans.

Become a more critical shopper: Is it good quality? Does it fit great (not good - but great)? Are the colors flattering? How versatile is this?

SYC for until April 1, keeping a log of outfits and feelings in order to work out 1) What holes and 2) What is my style and 3) How do I get to where I want my style to be.

Also, not quite fashion related, but overall appearance...Neat, Clean, and/or Polished nails. Stop sporting the three week old, chipped mani.

Alot a clothing budget and stick to it, testing the waters with a SYNeeds based on the outcome of SYC.
