Yay goals!
My goal last month was to stick to my $100/month budget, and I did it! That's a goal again this month, and probably every month until I'm no longer a grad student...
I'm still trying to wear everything in my closet (two months left!) and make sure that I'm only keeping items I use and like. I need to post an update on that.
Limit my purchases to items I love. I really am feeling good about having all of my wardrobe holes filled, so now I feel like I can relax and no longer buy things with a sense of desperation. I don't need anything, so I should only buy things I adore.
An example of this is that for a couple months I've been thinking it would be fun to buy something tweed. It had to be my colors, and not look too stuffy or professorial (no elbow patches!). I also wanted to to be a reasonable price, and most of what I've been seeing in stores would blow most of my monthly budget in one purchase, plus it didn't sing to me. And then I was browsing jackets on etsy and came across a tweed blazer that a) couldn't have better colors, b) fits me perfectly, c) is a great style/cut, and d) cost $25 including shipping. It's perfect, and I have absolutely no regrets buying it. If I had bought something tweed earlier, out of a feeling of desperation, I would completely regret it now that I've found an item that's much better and much cheaper.
Anyway, the point is that I want to remember how I found this jacket and how I felt when I found it, and make sure that my future purchases make me just as giddy!
