I was wondering if anyone else was, like me, had an introduction to fashion via an interest in fashion history.

Mine pre-dates entering school and by the end of year one my parents had given me a book on "clothing through the ages" for Christmas. In the next couple of years I devoured every book on the subject in my school and local libraries. I think it also introduced me to social history, another life long interest.

It wasn't til "Lady Di" came on the scene that I was really aware of what was happening in current fashion. And not til my teens that I was particularly interested in following it, though even then I often wore my own retro stuff not really related to current teenage looks.

Anyone else?
