Hi Sterling and Joy. Like both of you, I am in the process of putting away my "deep winter" clothing (flannel shirts, bulky pullovers, sweater dresses, boots, etc). Joy -- My gosh -- Your recent outfits are beyond gorgeous, especially #1 and #3. You wear those soft colors so well. I adore the long vest in #2. It looks great with the "orphaned" striped tee. I just had a light bulb moment after reading your thoughts about your own orphan wardrobe items, especially this part -- "Weather has contributed to their disuse if they are not warm enough for winters here but too warm for summers." I have the same issue. I find that certain "transitional" pieces get less frequent use… e.g. button-down shirts, lightweight jackets and cardigans. Now that my wardrobe is in that narrow transitional window, I need to wear some of those pieces. Today, my orphan is one of those transitional pieces that I often ignore… a lighter weight knit jacket/cardigan. I used to wear it a lot when I worked in an office environment. Now it mostly sits in my closet. I am attempting to style it casually today in keeping with my present lifestyle. Pairing it with a solid V-neck tee, stone colored skinny boyfriend jeans, pewter suede boat shoes and some gunmetal jewelry.
