I used to seldom purge, but this board has convinced me to start doing more. I started with the shoes as I have been a big shoe impulse buyer. To a smaller degree a jacket impulse buyer too. Purged all shoes that were not comfy at least to a degree like the heels that I would have to stand, walk, etc. a lot in. The purge included a few pairs that I should have returned but kept because they were so cute.
Now I am buying shoes very carefully, planning, analyzing and thinking. also realized that I actually need far less than I had, and can actually get by on the ones left after the purge. But the want factor is very high,,and I will definitely get more -especially a pair of white and low heel sandals.
I can certainally see where the on line purchasing can get out of hand-it is just too easy! also we have the anticipation of waiting for it to arrive. sort of like a kid waiting for Christmas.
I now have a mental list to go thru before buying shoes-and am starting to use it for all clothing purchases too. Only impulse buys are like if I really do like it, and it will not be there later, so will bring home or on line purchase, with the absolute will return if all the criteria aren't met.
The list is like -what with-styling it, longetivity, color analysis as to trend color and style. I feel that if something attracts me then it fits "me" my style, and lifestyle, otherwise I would not be considering it.
