My book club is currently reading “Clare McCardell: The Designer Who Set Women Free” and I’m enjoying it so much I wanted to share it here. Anyone who likes reading and would appreciate a great insight into the feminist fashion revolution of the early to mid twentieth century will enjoy this. I’d never even heard of her until this book entered my radar a few months ago. Bonus: the audiobook version is quite good too.
McCardell is from my home state so it’s especially meaningful to me, but I think any woman who has longed for more comfort, ease, and function in clothing, and POCKETS, will appreciate this. Great insights into the workings of the fashion industry too.
