Falling hard for these Anyi Lu booties....help! Update: AL comment!

I have fallen in love with these Anyi Lu cognac booties from the NAS. I'm thinking they would look great with my midi skirts for fall. But oy! They are pricey...even on sale.

Are they worth it? Or is this look a passing fad?

Totally gorgeous, aren't they? I can't help much because I think they are really fabulous, and I've tried on AL shoes and they are ridiculously comfortable. Good luck deciding!

I've been seeing peep toe booties for a few seasons now. Seems fairly long-lived. And these are nice, too, because they don't have the monster heel height I usually see on the style.

I know, I know! I tried to go have a look at them, but the nearby Nordstrom didn't have them. I'm debating on whether to make the long drive again to *my* Nordie's.

When I was on my jacket expedition yesterday, I also stopped by the shoe department. The SA brought out not only the shoes I had asked for but -- evil-doer! -- the Anyi Lu booties as well, "because she thought I would like them."

I was strong and did not try them on because they are not something I would wear often and because they are too pricey to sit in the closet.

But man, are they beautiful. Nancylee -- do you have the climate and lifestyle to wear them a couple of times a week? If so, I would leap. They just seem special.

You ladies keep surprising me. I read "peep-toe bootie" and I thought "yuck". Then I saw them.

I wouldn't buy them for myself though. The inbetween weather that they are best suited for just doesn't last long enough around here.

They're gorgeous, but I can't figure out how they should be worn. With bare legs? That really limits the seasons to wear them.

Parsley, that's one of my concerns. A lot of YLFers have commented here on the limited seasonality (is that a word? of these shoes. I was thinking I could wear them through fall/winter with tights, but maybe I'm wrong.

So, how DO you wear these? Are they considered summer because of the peep toe, or more fall/winter?

Something that beautiful can't be a fad. I also think that the peep toe bootie has been around long enough now where they are almost a basic.

I think that one would wear them like every other bootie.
I LOVE them.

Really beautiful! I'd say totally worth the investment except the peep toe gives me pause. I'd fear that look will go out in a few years.

To me, the color is a beautiful fall color! That and the fact that there's full foot coverage - except that peep.

However, I can still see plenty of folk rocking them with summer wear -- if it's not blazing hot -- because they don't seem to be covering the ankle.

Do you get snow or slush where you live? Because that's when my winter wearing would have to end No way I'm wearing $300 shoes thru slush.

However, they are small enough that I'd carry them to change into at work when wearing true snow boots.

I'm sorry, I will not be very helpful if you are trying to talk yourself out of them, because I ordered them in grey (they are already sold out in a lot of sizes) and can't wait to receive them!

I've seen many stylish women wearing peep-toe booties with opaque or textured tights, and plan to do that myself this fall. That gives this kind of shoe a lot more opportunities for wear, because you can wear them with bare legs in warmer weather, and with tights when it's chilly. I absolutely love the Anyi Lu booties and would buy a pair if I could justify the cost, but I can't right now.

I don't show my bare legs because of discoloration and scarring on both legs, so I always pay attention to what looks good with tights. I wore floral-textured tights with peep-toe shoes to a wedding this past weekend, and got lots of compliments on the look. The tights looked a bit unseasonal, since the weather turned from gray and rainy to sunny and warmer than expected, but I was no warmer than I would have been in sheer panythose, so I didn't care.

These are a GREAT Summer Seattle shoe for me. I almost bought them too. Anyi Lu makes extremely comfy and well made footwear.

I would wear them in the same way that you wear a Summer nude sandal, Nancylee.

They look goergouse. Im loving my booties just now, even in this weather. I have been to Macy's a lot recently, they have a sale on, the sales always catch me, and I found a pair fairly similar to what you bought. They are so nice, wish I had bought them now, but I had already got 4 pairs waiting for me

I think the peep toe bootie is here to stay:). Love these. I would think this would be a great Spring/Summer shoe. You could wear tights with them and I have seen many do this but somehow I thi no bare legs with the booties has a greater appeal.

Thanks everyone. As gorgeous as these shoes are, I'm having trouble justifying them as a summer shoe. I guess the cognac color led me to think of this as more versatile cross-season/fall shoe. I know many of you encouraged me to wear these in cooler weather with tights, which was my original thought, but now I'm having second thoughts.

Laura, are you planning to wear yours as summer only shoes or are you going to wear them with tights into fall?
