Fall sneakers and Boston Shopping

The short and sweet: I will be in downtown Boston next week and I would love to know where to go to look for sneakers (and other fun shopping!). Also any links to sneakers you love for fall!

Hi it's me drooling over Simon's again! Per this collection, I am loving the idea of combining menswear pants and sneakers this fall. I might even sneak in one of the sporty fall floral tops I posted about recently. And I can shop my closet for the pants.

But I don't have any "fall" sneakers. I don't love the idea of white and/or black. I do have some almost white "buff"-coloured leather Converse that might work. But truthfully I've been wanting a fall-inspired, richly coloured and/or textured sneaker for a while. Even if I end up deciding it's too much with the pants and just wear them with jeans

I would love something mixed media with say a tweed or other interesting fabric. I've seen some Brooks Heritage Vanguard pairs that appeal but never actually for sale in Canada... some ideas below.

Our selection of shoes tends to be much more limited and expensive in Canada - no Zappo's, and a limited range of many international brands.

I like the idea of leather sneakers for fall. Both pair you show are rich in texture and fall colors.

Consider ordering online for shipment to your Boston lodgings. Call the hotel ahead to arrange for them to hold your packages. Return before you leave.

They are exactly what I’ve been looking for.
I have looked at the New Balance retro ones but they seem to have a thicker sole now... not as retro looking.

Smittie, they are just from an image search. So I don’t know if anything like them is available currently. If you find some let me know - even if I can’t order them to Canada, I will enjoy them vicariously
bj1111, maybe that is feasible, I’ll look into it. I have in the past ordered to an American friend’s address I was visiting and that worked well.

I definitely want a fall sneaker too - in velvet or suede , and hopefully grey and /or black . I like the grey Nike’s except for that turned up rubber toe tip thing . Beautiful mustardy gold swoosh .

The Tannery on Boylston has some fabulous options - and it's right down the street from Lord & Taylor too. You'd be near Newbury and the Pru if you wanted to do more shopping! (Copley on the Green line)

I like to hit up the Madewell (which also carries sneakers sometimes!) and Club Monaco when I visit, and there's also that huge Eataly to grab a snack to fortify your shopping

Oh also there is the huge Nike store and a Converse store on Newbury, in case you need MORE sneaker options!

Hi JuniperGreen thank you so much! I bought snakeskin slipons at Vince and am still wanting a tweedy and sportier sneaker someday, but I thoroughly enjoyed the Tannery, Lord and Taylor and Eataly for my last few free hours in Boston No sales tax was also a nice little bonus!
