You may remember that I did quite a bit of shopping in September, spending my budget up until November. Still, this week I found myself with some store credit for a favorite sustainable fashion store. I could have used it sensibly on some bike gear. I didn’t.

These three items are otherwise a bit above my budget. Isn’t that the exact situation for which to use vouchers/store credit?

Item 1 is a windowpane shirt. It’s a bit oversized in cut, but not too much. The fabric is cotton but feels soft and airy like viscose. I’m hoping it will be durable, as I can see myself living in this in slightly warmer months. Not really a fall winter item, yet the right windowpane shirt has been a bit of a HEWI for me these last years so I couldn’t walk away.

Item 2 is a pair of plaid cropped trousers. I consider them JFE and I love them for being the closest to true forties tomboy style I will probably ever get, with their stiff fabric and straight cut. The plaid consists of a mushroom base with a pine green and a burgundy stripe. I’ll wear these trousers with a pine green sweater, with my new beige cardi, and with … item no. 3!

Item 3 is a beautiful mock neck cotton knit. The brand Armed Angels (of which I’m a fan, if you can’t tell) has had this model around for one or two years, but so far I never found the color selection just right. Now I find it in burgundy, an essential FW color of mine (of which the blue based variety is quickly disappearing from stores), and an exact match for the trousers I got … So of course I couldn’t resist.

Excuse the weird fitting room pics

Although I have to be mindful about my shopping habits going further towards the end of 2019, I think I’m making purchases that hit the mark both emotionally and rationally. I’ve been wanting to add more color and print to my wardrobe and the majority of my recent purchases fit that bill. I’ve also really been leaning into my forties tomboy moniker (although there’s also a large dose of nineties throwback in the mix), because I’m feeling ever more comfortable in those type of outfits. So all in all, I’m pretty psyched!
