Fall 2011 colors: What say you?

I LOVE the new color palette! The first four colors and the teal are going to be FAB. Bamboo is such an unusual color and I'm not sure it will work on me, but there is usually quite a variation so we'll see. I think it will look delightful with the other colors though, and will work very nicely as an accent color away from the face.

I don't love coffee liqueur and I hate nougat, but the rest are still pretty colors even if I can't personally wear them.

Overall 5 hits and 1 miss isn't half bad.

Looks pretty similar to the spring palette. If Emberglow manifests in pinky-orange peaches I'm definitely going to stock up! I'll likely stay away from Bamboo (maybe I'll try as an accent, you're right it's an interesting color) and Honeysuckle (unless it turns into berry!), but the others I rather like. I certainly like this palette better than spring's!

I think color palettes always have some overlap from season to season and year to year. Makes sense. Honeysuckle was deemed the color of the year last season.

Given that different stores use different adaptations of these colors, I'm super excited! My favorites are bamboo and deep teal, and with some slight modifications I'm a fan of cedar, coffee liqueur, emberglow, and phlox.

hmm, I don't know who or what Pantone is and I usually just wear colors that look good on me that I like. The only time I remember a specific 'color of the season' was the pink everywhere in 2003. I suppose I just choose to pay attention to the parts of fashion I want to and just totally ignore others lol.

So far, this is not the palette I'm seeing on the runways at NYFW (Fall 2011) - I think that Pantone might tweak their colours!

Bamboo is a unique shade. Not quite green, not quite yellow. A bit like citron, but not as bright.

Emberglow is an orangey coral.

Honeysuckle is the same pinky coral as spring.

Phlox is a spectacular rich, saturated royal purple.

Cedar is a pale, sagey green. More yellow than blue.

Deep teal is….um…deep teal. Very pretty. More green than blue, unlike the turquoises of last year.

Coffee liqueur is a dusty brown, unlike a rich chocolate brown.

Nougat is beige. Gag.

Orchid hush is a very pale, icy, pastel blue-purple color.

Quarry looks like deep teal if you added a lot of white to it to lighten it. It's like a pastel teal.

You will look particularly divine in phlox and deep teal!

I just took notes to describe the colors for Michelle and had many of the same words as Maya.
Bamboo looks like a rich gold with a slight greenish cast.
For myself, I like emberglow and cedar and maybe phlox if it isn't too pinkish.

I adore the Bamboo and I think I'll really like the Teal and Coffee Liqueur. Bonus is I think l will like them with black and grey.

Anything I can look forward to, so I don't dread (more) cold weather is wonderful news.

I'm very happy to see some richer colors, and as deep teal is by far my favorite color on me, I'm going to be stocking up in the fall. It makes me feel happier than all of the earth tones I saw in stores last fall.

My favs are Phlox and Deep Teal. The coffee liqueur is a fabulous neutral that will look nice with my fair skin and dark ash blond hair.

I love Pantone, THE fashion industry standard. I just got the Fall 2011 color cards for my new design studio- a collegue in Europe always sends them to me. WOOHOO!

Saw a similar article last night. On my home computer, the bamboo looked like a fun citron-esque shade... on this computer, it looks more like mustard. I hope it's the former!

I am soooooo ahead of fashion or maybe really behind.....

These are colors that look good on me, I think, and that I really like, so I am wearing already. I just bought a teal sweater at the Gap and the honeysuckle is the only "pink" I wear, and I just wore "phlonx" yesterday !!!

I love neutrals and am thrilled to see brown coming back with a vengeance; there's been SO much gray lately (and, I love gray) that it'll be a pleasure to have more brown back in the mix.

Deep teal and Phlox (what a name!), here I come.

I've actually seen a lot of Cedar around already. Actually, yesterday at work 4 different people were wearing that shade. (Most of the rest of us were wearing various shades of purple, completely by accident.)

I actually think orchid hush looks pretty, but will bypass nougat.

I like a lot of these colors - particularly the Phlox and Deep Teal. I can see them, along with Honeysuckle, Orchid Hush, and Quarry paired with my neutrals (mainly gray and black) and then accented with splashes of Bamboo, Cedar, and Emberglow. I'm not crazy for Nougat and Coffee Liq.!

Oh no... what am I going to do with all of my shades of grey? After decades of hating grey, I finally embraced it. I have three grey striped tops, a grey striped sweater, grey t-shirts in light, medium and dark shades, grey jeans, etc.

I do like these colors, all of them really with the exception of bamboo which I can see only as an accent color on me.
