Fab Stella - fun challenge idea!

So... I have an idea for what I think could be a fun challenge, but since I haven't been part of the forum for too long, feel free to tell me if it has already been done.

Have you ever heard of Flat Stanley? He Is like a big paper doll that kids send out to someone who lives far away, and he gets to have adventures and pictures with the new friend, and then he sent on to another, and another... By the time Stanley returns home, he has been quite the traveler, and everyone involved gets to feel a bit of the adventure.

What if we do a Fab Stella? This is what I propose:

Phase 1
People submit photos of a handbag they are willing to give up (permanently) to the cause. Try to show photos of the bag in such a way that shows size, color and detail, but not in an outfit.

Phase 2
Angie chooses the winner, dubbed "Fab Stella". She would be free to pick based on any criteria that strikes her fancy (which could be complex, or as simple as loving it best).

Phase 3
Fab Stella gets photographed in an outfit by the person who is donating the item, and then they pass it on to the next person. And so on.
(Bonus points for showing Stella around the area and photographing her in awesome local settings/restaurants/situations. Stella will be quite the world traveler when all is said and done, so this can be a really fun aspect of the game.)
I also think that whoever has Stella should get to pick the next recipient, and no one else on the forum knows where she is going next until she turns up.
(And don't forget to pop a postcard in the handbag before you pass it along!)

Phase 4
When her world travels are over, Fab Stella goes to Angie. To keep.

So... What do you guys think? I don't think it is a big time, effort, or monetary commitment for any one person. If this appeals to enough people, I'll start a thread "Angie picks Fab Stella".

ETA: The name can be flexible. I was not aware of anyone with the name Stella on the forum, but I am new and there are lots of nicknames, so I'm open to suggestions if that name is already "taken".

Sarah, you are so creative! My only concern is the postage. So many forum members are international, and it can cost quite a bit of money to send things overseas. I wonder if people outside the U.S. and Canada would feel left out? (Just a thought.)

That's a good point, Gigi. I thought about that, but I would really love for everyone who wants to participate to get a chance... International makes it even more fun. That's why I thought people could choose who to send it to. Some may even be able to hand it off to someone if they live close by. Others may be alright with the postage and be willing to send it across the world. But it is something to bear in mind...

Another thought is perhaps to organize the sending a lot more. Depending on who starts the thing, we could plan it to make the rounds in a very organized way around the world so that only a few people (ones who express a willingness) need to do the sendings across oceans. I am willing to work hard to take as much pressure off of people as possible.

I think it is a great idea. I would suggest there is a sign up so anyone who is interested can do it but no one is "put on the spot" by having it arrive unannounced at their door! Maybe that is what you meant ...
