It looks like the Gucci ones are fairly fitted in the thigh and then looser below the knee. Is that what makes them look more modern to me?

YES, Robin. I prefer the fitted versions of the Gucci and Pam & Gela.

I remember the classic Adidas track pant having a big moment in the 90s, just before the Juicy couture tracksuit I think... I've been wondering when this silhouette would start competing with joggers. I like joggers all right, but love me a straight leg.

Wow, that brings me back to my middle school days. (The track pants would be worn with a matching jacket. Adidas was the coveted brand, LOL.)

It's great as a hi-lo look (I mean combined with a very chic counterpart piece).

Oh poo. Did you notice they were cotton? A lot of track style are poly, making them hard to use as a summer long pant.
I may look for some others. I like to have a non- jeans option and not sure I'm going the chino route. I may
get another SS season out of my Gap linen- cotton pants but probably need to line up a refresher.

I had me some navy Adidas ones with a cream stripe, and the matching jacket which was cream with navy stripe. Very cool

Nice, but the cotton would be a deal breaker for me. Bagged out knees and bum, and generally shapeless after wearing for 1/ 2 hour. That's my experience with cotton track pants. I am sure the Adidas original is still out there - I have the soccer warmup pants that are a slimmer cut but when you open the zipper, you get the flare effect.

I think it is not an easy look to pull of - wrong shoe or proportions and one might look like a retired soccer player

Super cute! I absolutely love the juxtaposition of the track pants with street clothes. I really, really, love Veronica's outfit, too! I actually have some "at home" Adidas track pants that were a little big in the waist when I bought them and now I can't keep them up 5 mins. Might be the excuse I need to buy something I can't wear for work, if I can juxtapose it like this. Thanks, Angie!

I have an old pair of brown adidas track pants and the fit is not really right for fashion - and although brown is apparently the next big thing, they are not a pretty brown. I like the side bottom zips on these (sadly sold out) version.

I have tried a more fashion all-silk pair (navy with red stripe) from Tory Burch and they seemed too fake, and went back.

Oh that green color! Gets me green with envy, hahaha. Here's hoping retailers recycle the look of the wider leg track pant. I would love a pair with the snaps going all the way up the leg (i.e. basketball warm-up style). Wouldn't that be a cool accent? like red snaps up a green leg?
