Fantastic! Very inspiring. I really like Madewell style, and it's great to see someone my age modeling it. Because sometimes I do find myself wondering whether I'm anywhere near their target market, even though I know it doesn't matter, and I'll wear what I want, etc., etc., sometimes the question does creep into a corner of my mind.
She’s absolutely gorgeous. I love the confident side profile pic of her beautiful, strong nose. Maybe one day, when I’m big, I’ll be able to do that too
Yes!! I noticed her right away too. So refreshing. One thing I love about Madewell is although the sales associates in the stores I frequent are unfailingly young, they make me feel right at home. And this model only reinforces that feeling. Good on Madewell.
Great sharing; I’ve noticed her before.
To me marketing includes both the “imaginary life” fantasy appeal AND the “ I can actually see wearing that”— the relatable idea per lisa p.
I understand they’re going to still use models that look way more conventionally “ good” than “ average” folks.
When looking at some more “ mature” bloggers I get mixed feelings— sometimes it’s wow, great, and sometimes, if that’s how that looks on “ us” , I would make some ... adjustments.
Thanks for sharing Angie! I was borderline stunned that they didn't photoshop her neck. You almost never see that. I want to know more about her and this campaign.
This campaign makes me feel more comfortable about walking into a Madewell now.
I haven't read the comments yet, but one thing that strikes me about the images is I appreciate seeing an older woman with long, grey hair. Most women tend to go shorter with their hair as they age, but I can't imagine that ever working for me and my wild hair. This is a nice alternative look.
I feel inspired. I like her hair. I always try to straighten mine, but if I left it air dry with some product it gets waivy like this. I am tired of witch comments - too many people asked me if I got the job at Hogwarts, and I hesitate to wear it long and down.
Oh Anchie, that is awful. You need to find a good comeback response to that one that makes them think and feel bad all at the same time. I noticed a stunning older woman perhaps 70 at breakfast at the hotel we're at yesterday- long white curly hair, kind of boho top and sandals/jewellery. Rockin' it like this Madewell model!
And brands using older models def makes me happy to support them, all else being equal.
Gorgeous! I am a bit confused since I always thought of Madewell as the more youthful Juniors line of J Crew. Like the Old Navy to Gap.I equate it with lesser quality and smaller fits. Is this changing or untrue? I have not found Madewell to fit me except for a pair of jeans I recently purchased at the Rack.
Oh, anchie. How rude people can be. I'm with Jenni NZ. You need a good comeback response.
Jeanne, exactly the opposite! Madewell is the better quality version of J.Crew. A lot more neutral and casual - but definitely better quality and higher end. Suppose to cut across all age groups.
I would love to see you with your hair curly Anchie. Tell the rude people that yes you did get the job and you also just put a curse on them. (Fantasy life comeback )
She’s fantastic! I love that they didn’t photoshop her chin or neck, as I’m self-conscious of that area on myself. Plus I’m on vacation and long overdue for a hair cut/color (it’s going to be absolutely dire by the time we get home in two weeks!), and while traveling I rarely bother to blow-dry and style my hair, so I’m kind of loving the wild curly grey hair. Yay Madewell! Next time I need to jean shop I will definitely try them.
Anchie maybe your comeback should be that you DID get the job at Hogwarts and your current job assignment is to test out some new spells, and you were hoping you could try them out on them.... At least you could introduce some humor ...:-)
How did I miss this post? She’s stunning! She reminds me of a woman I saw this summer while on vacation at a beach community. She was tanned, fit, relaxed, and beautiful with long white hair. I immediately wanted to stop coloring my hair and grow it out
