I like both, so I'm not much help. I will say that a pair of frames I got with light gold on them have proved my least-worn pair. Even though I wear mixed metals and have both gold and silver tones on my watch and a ring I wear most of the time, I do not like wearing those glasses with silver jewelry. Maybe that's a vote for two pairs!

Both good. I like 1 the best....

Ha, Lesley --it's an option!

Sharan, I've wondered about that. Both of these have gold on them.

indigoprint -- thanks! I like both too. I have a few weeks to think about it.

I hastily tried on a few more pairs of glasses today while I waited for Dh to finish an eye appointment. Added photos and commentary to the original post.

Thanks for looking - your comments are most welcome!!

Good lord, you wear glasses well ... I truly can't choose! 4 is the most classic to my eye, so *perhaps* the most versatile ... But I'm not totally sold on my own argument there. They all look so good ... Which one makes your heart sing?

you have the best smile... I like the tortoise shell best. But I am a neutral girl ....I like what Helena says.

OMG. Carol, you are so gorgeous! What a smile!

I love #3!!

Can you get the first two and those?

In all seriousness, get one fairly classic and one that "pops." You will wear and love both, I guarantee it.

I'm blushing Helena and Indigoprint -- such sweet things to say! Thank you.

Given that I have struggled in the past to find glasses I like, I have trouble wrapping my head around wearing glasses well, Helena, ...But I am happy to have found multiple options that I actually like.

I was really rushed today, so I really need to try them all again under slightly calmer circumstances.

I still really like the first two. They're a departure from what I have now, with interesting shapes and both are fairly neutral in colour.

#3 is more out there and dramatic -- not sure the colour is the most versatile for me - but I do feel good in them.

I like the nerdy/modern vibe of #4, and the classic tortoiseshell.

The colour of #5 isn't one I think I would want to wear every day, but I'm waiting to see if I can try a different colour.

Great decision making skills at work here....:-) I might go as far as to get two pair, but that still means making choices.

Jeepers, Suz --thank you! What a boost y'all are giving me!!

I think three pair could be overkill. I can see the merits of one pair that's a bit more classic and one that pops.

I might prefer both the first two to the nerdy tortoise pair, but I like the earthiness of the tortoise. There was actually another tortoise pair I tried on that I kind of liked, but they were very basic -- not bad in any way, just, basic. But maybe if one pair is super bold, one pair should be more basic....Hmmm

# 5 is quirky in a good way. I love them. Hope you get to try other colours.

The #4 tortoise shell frames look like another fun option, classic with a cute twist, and of course I’ve always liked #1 too.

Okay the third are my absolute favorite! They manage to look cool, fashion-forward, and yet flatter you, which doesn't always come together in the same pair!

Thank you, Star! I am surprised I like them as much as I do.

Dee -- I like that they're neutral but not just 'ordinary'.

Lesley -- I have to admit #3 is growing on me. I really don't wear a lot of blue, and I wouldn't have thought that the combination of bold colour and unusual shape would appeal to me at all, but there you have it. The interior of the frame is tortoiseshell, and that might be what tones them down enough for me.

I think five is super cute, but I wonder with both 4 and 5, if your eyes are centered enough in the frames. I think the way corrective lenses are made, your eyes need to be centered.

What Rachy said! The first two styles are better. Eyes centered.

Thanks, Rachy and Angie. My optician hasn't expressed a concern with eye placement in any of these, and she's been pretty quick to point out if there is an issue.

I will raise it with her, though, before pulling the trigger on anything. Or I might just keep wearing my old glasses forever at the rate I am going...

I think sometimes in a new statement everyday piece like glasses, it's actually very practical to inject a color that you don't normally use... it's layering a new element rather than being matchy-matchy.

You really can't go wrong with any of these, although I do think the blue ones could be a little bit limiting (for my matchy matchy self, maybe not for everyone). #2 is still my favorite followed by #1 and tortoiseshell equally.

Thanks for all your input, everyone! After much back and forth, I put my money down on #2 (Kilsgaard -- find below).

The shape is pretty and new to me, the colour is relatively neutral (it's blue, but but quite greyed), they fit well and they are very lightweight -- all of which I hope will make them a very easy-to-wear everyday option.

#3 still tugs at my emotions, too, so I haven't ruled them out yet as a second pair. (photo below)

I feel very 'modern' in them -- bold but not eccentric.-- and my optician had no worries about the fit or eye placement. I'll ponder for a couple of weeks and see where I land. Being all acetate, they are a bit heavier than the Kilsgaards and might tend to slide down my nose more as they don't have nose pads. But I still like how I feel in them.

I love #3 on you! The first two are still contenders also, in my opinion!

I'm privy to cat eyes but that's just me. I love all specs on you.

Thanks, Sharan. I'm surprised by how much I like #3 because I would not think they would be "me" at all. I might not be able to resist buying them as a second pair.

Thanks citygirl -- I never thought I cared for cat eyes, but one must never say never! I think these will be a fun change.

Robin -- I have been back and forth on the matchy question too. Because the inside of the frame is tortoiseshell, they're actually probably reasonably versatile...

YAY!!! LOVE those. Eyes are centered

Thanks, Angie!!!

Oh, really great choice. I thought both 1 and 2 looked awesome on you.

Wow, many great choices here!! My new multifocals from Spring are very simillar to yours in nr 4. are they Prada? Maybe am too used to see these in my mirror:-) so, I rather vote 1 and 3 for you- but really all these shapes suit you great (including cat eyes in 2 &nr 4, too-of course).

Thanks, Jenni. I like them both too. Ultimately #2 was the better fit so that tipped the balance.

Thanks, Lyn. I know #4 isn’t Prada but I can’t recall offhand what it is. Maybe Res Rei.

Excellent choice!!
