Sorry, I completely forgot.

I bought a Rimmel Colour Rush Mono eyeshadow because it was very cheap - exactly this one: http://www.rimmellondon.com/UK.....spx?id=360

...yes, Envy - that blue one (the green crown was just a very thin layer so now it's gone). I can't post a picture right now, but I wouldn't probably use the eyeshadow once more. It's SO FREAKIN BLUE. I feel like a peacock

Hard to judge without seeing it on you BUT I have a few frickin' bright eyeshadows that I use from time to time and with a careful hand. I have a super-bright blue that I sometimes use when I do a "smoky eye" to add a bit of colour to an otherwise dark and sombre makeup look.

If it was cheap, why not keep it and experiment with it. If it doesn't suit you, you'll know to avoid buying these kinds of colours in the future.

I agree with Mac; play around with it! Try a light wash by using a wet brush, or use it over other colors.

However, if you are not comfortable wearing make-up in general, I'd stick with neutrals. Maybe a shimmery khaki/olive would be pretty on you.

i find it fun to use bright shadows as an eyeliner sometimes... it still adds color, but prevents me from looking clownish when I inevitably do it wrong. Not that YOU would do it wrong, but maybe try it out this way at first, until you feel more comfortable?

Like rae, occasionally I will use blue eyeshadow as eyeliner. I layer it over black eyeliner and it looks really pretty.

I was going to suggest using as a liner as well, or maybe smudge a tiny bit in the crease of your eye, over a different, more subtle, shade of blue and then blend together to get that gradient look?

I have just started to wear eyeshadows (yes, I am in my 30s!). I find a lot of youtube videos are very helpful. Maybe you could search for one on how to use bright eyeshadow...

OK, I can show it to you. I don't feel well, but somehow I managed to take a photo. I used some lighter shades to tone down the bright blue:

Looks absolutely incredible to me!!! How did you apply it? With a brush or ??? I wouldn't know where to start. It looks absolutely knock-out with your new hair too!!

Yes, with a round, soft brush. There is a bit of rosy beige and pale green as well.

I'm going to be the lone ranger here and say use it very sparingly and possibly only for a night out. You have the most gorgeous green eyes and fab eyebrows, but the first thing I see is the eyeshadow, not your eyes.

I'd love to see you in muted purple or bronzes to bring out your eye color.

Don't worry, I'm not going to use it everyday. Only special occasions

I don't have a purple eyeshadow (I think I'll buy another cheap one to experiment), but I think I can use a bronze one. Thanks for the idea!
