Eyeing some Express stuff - input needed

I have just received some very good Express coupons in the mail, and am going there this weekend to check some stuff out. I would be curious to know what do you think about the following:

1. Military silk blouse:

I have tried it on the last time I was there and really like it and am definitely getting it. I am undecided about the color: should I get in indigo to wear with my blacks, or olive to wear with my purples, or cream to wear with anything?

2. Purple shirt dress (in currant):

I have a purple shirt dress on my fall shopping list and this one definitely fits the bill. However, I have gotten the black version two months ago (they did not have the purple then). I love the black one and wear it fairly often ( for me). Is it silly to get the exactly same model and should I hold out for another purple one elsewhere? Or is a purple shirt dress a purple shirt dress, how different can it be?

3. Grey knitted jacket:

Love it, and it would be very useful - I have to come to realize that knitted jackets and cardis with blazer shapes are the most useful for my work dress code. Also, military style is something I would always wear, not only now when it is in fashion. However, is it too similar to this one in black I got last year?

4. Moto skinnies:

For some reason, these really appeal to me. But are they too young ( I am 32, soon to be 33)? Too trendy? How would one wear them?

I love the silk blouse- I have the stretch cotton version of that shirt in Indigo and like it a lot!

I have that shirtdress in black I think the general rule about duplicating is don't buy the same item in different colours....but do you think you'll have much luck getting a purple dress elsewhere?

That is precisely my dilemma - I do not know if I will be able to find another purple shirt dress. If I knew I would, then I would pass this one, and If I knew I won't then I would be getting it. So I just do not know at the moment.

I can see you rock all these looks, Tanya! Here is my 2 cents:

1. Windsor blue and wild Orchid get my vote for the military silk blouse. I also love the Indigo.

2. I vote pass on the purple shirt dress if you keep the denim on efrom VS.

3. The Millitary jacket looks very similar. I vote pass and wait for something else

4. Try the moto jeans!

I hear you on the military jacket. I really want a grey knitted jacket. Maybe I should go for blazer style like this instead:

Another vote for the military blouse. I have one and they are so useful and fun. They keep updating them in new colors every season - too addictive, hee.

Tanya -- I have the military silk blouse in the olive color. Haven't worn it yet (still too hot in my non-air-conditioned office) but it makes me happy to see it in my closet.

The "washed black" color is actually gray. The smallest size they have now is Medium, but I will say that this jacket runs small and cheeky -- might be worth a try.

I shan't be getting the military shirt Reviews pretty unanimously agree it's not for the generous of bust. Oh well, I will enjoy it on all of you I suppose.

Maya - I, too, shall remain silk military-blouseless...I can't do dry-clean only for non-outerwear stuff.

So, I have just come back from the mall, and this is what I found:

1. The silk shirt is really pretty and nicely made. It does run small in the chest area - I could just about button it over my thinnest non-padded bra. The store only had olive and cream so I will be ordering one online. Still trying to decide between indigo and windsor blue.

2. The moto skinnies were so-so. They only had large sizes so I did not try them on. But I did not like the denim at all so I am not getting those. I guess years of buying premium denim only have spoiled me.

3. Did not like the knitted jacket in grey, it looked much better in black. I got a greyish knitted jacket/sweater from Zara that I will be posting soon.

Did you happen to slide your eyes across the black "sexy moto leggings" which I absolutely do not need and will not be ordering. probably not. most likely maybe not.

I went to Express and have exactly the same impressions, Tanya. There is a grey ruffle military jacket that is DIVINE - woven. I know it's not right for work.
