Eyeglasses - I think these are the winners!

Good news, my prescription hasn't changed very much in 3+ years, but I'm ready for a change in frame style. I don't love my old glasses anymore. My face is (unfortunately) changing as I age, and I feel like I am due for an update in frame styles.

Surprisingly, I didn't agonize long over these selections. I ruled a lot of things out quite quickly. The SAs were extremely helpful.

I am getting two pair and likely retiring all my old ones. These are my winners:

1-3 OGI tortoiseshell & blue - I think these are my favorites. A little outside of my usual spec style, but I love them. The colors echo my coloring, which I really like.

4-5 OGI dark red & black - very lightweight & comfortable. A bit more "safe" in style and they read a bit more neutral on me.

6-7 Andrew Marc gunmetal aviators - I'm also keeping my old gold Oliver Peoples aviators and getting new lenses in them (pic 8). So many sunglasses hit my cheeks but these are a little smaller and I still love the aviator style on me, so I stuck with a familiar frame style. The gunmetal is a nice change of pace. I am hard on my
sunglasses so it will be nice to have two pairs!

Not the absolute greatest pics, but I think you get a decent idea. I'm pretty excited about these, but let me know if you see something really off. What do you think?

Very nice options. I have to say those gun metal aviators look like they were made for you. I think aviators can be really challenging in terms of exact shape and proportion, especially for women. Major win there.
I like the first ones also; especially appealing because of your fondness for blue. Bravo!

I like these. The first pair look a little big to me--but I think that's just because I have been concentrating on itty bitty framesto accomodate my own prescription.

Janet, you really were made for glasses: you look so terrific in them, wow. All three pairs are winners in my book, with the first pair being the statement pair and the second one, as you pointed out, being a bit more neutral. It will be fun to be able to switch it up. And those Aviators are just plain cool.

Thanks, all! Alana, the first pair look a little big to me too in that first pic, but I truly cannot see it in the mirror. I think there might be a little optical trickery going on there, maybe the camera was up a little high in relation to my face. I'm *really* sensitive to glasses being too large in proportion to my face, so I think I got the size right.

I'm excited for my new glasses! I like the gunmetal aviators even better in the photos. (Those of you who shop for glasses know that it's really hard to see through dark glass when the glass isn't your prescription!). I almost went for a different shape, but they were only available in gold, and I did not want more gold.

I ruled out the slightly more cats-eye-ish glasses that I was considering the other day. Even though there was something appealing about them, something about them did not feel like *me*, and it felt like I was not going to love them long-term.

Inge, you are so sweet. Believe me, I look simply awful in 90% of the glasses I try on. There's a pretty narrow sweet spot of glasses that look halfway acceptable on me. I'm just always relieved when I find some that work.

Oh - such a great assortment of glasses! I love the gunmetal aviators - they look great on you! Also, really like the OGI dark red - great frame shape for your face! I love the color and shape of the OGI blue (1st pair) - but they look too big on your face to me - maybe I'm just not 'up' on the latest styles?? I'm just not sure.

Oh yay! Angie, I was actually holding my breath a little bit, hoping you would weigh in, and hoping you'd like #1! They just spoke to me, which is really, really rare for eyeglass frames. I'm usually not really in love with them, I just pick the ones that kinda sorta work better than the others.

Oh good - I'm glad that you heard from Angie because I was really doubting myself on that first pair - thinking "Are they too big?" and then "Are they not too big and I just don't have a clue????" I guess that the 2nd question was true!
