I will be going for my eye exam in May (once my 2012 healthcare funding kicks in for new eyeglasses) and will definitely be looking for 1-2 new pairs of eyeglasses. I'm already starting to look around a bit and get ideas and came across these...one of the nurses where I work has them and they are sooooo funky. Next time she pops by the office I'll see if I can get a pic with them on....anyway, what do you think? Cute or hideous?

Ooh, definite potential!

My one question would be if these fit into the *right* kind of retro vibe that you are drawn to. To me, these are very 50s-60s, and I sometimes feel like your vintage inspiration runs a couple decades before that? I could be completely wrong, though, and you are still early in your style transformation.

I almost got cat-eye specs in December to spend out my flexible spending account. Hubby warned me that my not-so-fashion-forward environment might not take it well so I shied away. Now I'm more interested in a good pair of cat-eye sunglasses instead.

That's a good question Rae - and many times, I would agree with you. I'm totally drawn to the 1940's in particular. But like you say, it's early yet and I guess time will tell. I appreciate your insight.

I also worry that I may become tired of such a strong style fairly quickly. I usually like to try and get at least 2-3 years out of them. Again, more food for thought.

I'm so glad you're happy with your glasses. Those are really cute.

I just got new glasses, too. Mine are a different style, but I'm happy with the way they fit and look on my face. That's the key. Buy what suits YOU!

I just found this on my phone. It shows the cat eyes I tried. It reminded me of your post. It was right after the gyms so excuse the way I look. What do you think?
