Eye device for dry eye AND collagen production

This came up in off topic and the cosmetics convos: blocked and irritated eyelash lines. You can’t wear mascara or eye makeup when this happens, and it looks rather swollen.
Disney Roller Girl blogger gave this infra red device a very favorable review.

The incidence of dry eye is going up with screen time, and not blinking when focused on devices. As a bookworm with fancy new corneas, this is of interest!

My optometrist recommended a heated eye mask (like you put in the microwave) and lie down with it for 15-20 minutes. But that was aimed at red and dry eyes. I'm a fan of Lumify drops, too.

I use eyedrops twice a day, as I have a family history of eye issues.
There's a salon I know of that has infared sunbeds. Haven't tried it, but apparently they're good for a lot of things.

Oh, thank you, Olive Green. It was me who raised the subject. You are prescient. After a bit of back and forth and experimentation, I have determined that the cause of my eyelid problems is probably not an allergy after all, or not an allergy, strictly speaking, but exactly what you describe -- blocked oil ducts. I have suffered from it once before, but it was about a decade ago and I had forgotten. Anyway, I stopped using the too rich moisturizer that I thought would help and that was contributing to the problem, and have been using warm compresses, drops, and eyelid cleaning several times a day, and it is much, much better. I've also been doing what UmmLila suggests with the lavender eye mask. Getting better by the day. PHEW.

That gadget looks really interesting. I wonder if it truly works?

My ophthalmologist recommended this eye mask for my dry eyes and it helps along with Restasis eye drops. It’s a less expensive option than the infra red device.

Several good options for dealing with this, glad to see, thank you guys.
Suz, I found intermittent crusty discharge from blocked ducts went completely away after all the lavage and cleaning and antibiotic drops around cataract surgery. So that is great, treatment is clearing yours up!
With or without makeup, its nice to have clear eyes.
Jorja, yes, some good reviews on that product! Another line of defence.

Oh, what a helpful thread! Dry eyes have increasingly become a problem for me. I will order one of those masks immediately and then also look into the eye drops that have been mentioned. The ones I am currently using don't seem to do very much.

I love the lumify drops for redness; they work amazingly well. Unfortunately I found some information that the preservative used is a known carcinogen, so I cut way back on my use of it; the medication in it is safe, but they used a cheap preservative that shouldn't be used long term. I'm going to try a warm lavender compress and see if that helps my dry eyes. Mine are dry due to a combination of weather, screens, and daily contact lenses. Seems like they are always dry and red! I'm curious about that device but it's a bit too spendy for me.

Jeneva, try the Refresh Plus drops for contacts. Preservative free. Spendy, but they work well.

I also got Hydrasense Day/ Night pack eye drops -- also preservative free.

Those little packs of eye drops are life savers on planes and in dry environments.
Wow, not going to get the Lumify now, Jeneva, it was recommended by a friend as her beauty aid, will give her a heads up.

Great recommendations in this thread! My eye doctor also recommended a preservative-free eye drop; her preference is Retaine.
