Extended sleeves trend

I saw this top the other day and I thought it was very odd looking. It reminded me of the Kristen Wiig SNL character. Now I realize it is part of the extended sleeve trend. What do you think of the top?

I think that I'd rather save my $1500 which is arnd what it would be with the tax.
The print is nice though.

Bahahahahah! I thought that first photo was a joke until I clicked on the link. What is even going on in that photo -- it looks like someone left enormous cardboard supports inside an extremely oversized shirt on the poor model. And then there is the big ring (what?) hanging from the belt loop? I just don't get it at all. I don't mind the idea of an exaggerated silhouette or extended sleeves, but that example just looks odd.

You totally nailed it with the Kristen Wiig reference.

Good news! The shoulder pads are removable! Which will probably make the sleeves even looooooonger.

Funny thing is, I kind of like the concept of the sleeves. But maybe without the stiff shoulder pad/extended shoulder treatment? Could be a cool DIY.

Part of the extended sleeve and sharp shoulder trend. It's quite laughable isn't it.

I have to say that David Byrne is iconic in that suit, and I have a soft stop for him in that look.

Yes -- Janet is right. My first thought regarding the Nordstrom shirt was Ray Bolger in the Wizard of Oz. Just add straw!!! Got a good chuckle about the Kristen Wiig character.

I think this could also become a DIY project. Take those old too small shoulder pads you have laying around from sports days past. Borrow a plaid shirt, I mean take a plaid shirt from a large male person. Grab some sharp scissors or a razor blade and get to work!

I'm setting mine outside as a scarecrow when I'm done.....

ETA: I just went back and read other responses and see that Janet also sees the scarecrow potential!

I saw this last week when I searched for red tops. It was one of the first things that came up.

This shirt specifically - maybe not!

Extended sleeves- yes! Especially tees or knits. I like the scrunchy look of extra long slim sleeves, and the proportions of bell sleeves. Both also make me feel like my hands are delicate, and that I am an exquisite delicate creature. Both of which are most definitely NOT true!

Though I wouldn't necessarily walk around with the sleeves at "full extension" - too much like elephant trunks.

Yes, I thought the same as Janet. David Byrne meets lumberjack! Our eyes will adjust to this, right? I can almost see Gwen Stefani being able to carry this off. It's got a street punk vibe. I am just not that hip.

OK, there is a lot not to like about this top (price and scarecrow potential included), but I kind of like the way the sleeves are attached with rings. Cute!
