OK, now I feel silly, I didn't know that you used to work there and know all the tricks I'll let you know if I see it somewhere here.

Oh sorry! I didn't mean to make you feel silly. I actually forgot about Fashion Delivery, because I've never used it, not even when I worked there (although I filled out a lot of the forms, hee). I worked there before the split from Limited Brands too, so I thought things might have changed as well. Thank you for letting me know this is still an option. Maybe I'll go and just ask them tomorrow about getting it fashion delivered so I don't have to wait.

Don't worry Ana, it is nothing serious. It is just one of those things when you are talking about something and then you realize that the person you are talking too is the expert in the area

I guess you could wear it already with your weather, I am very envious. It was 10 degrees here today and I absolutely froze.

Yikes, BRRR! That is one thing I don't miss about living in the North. If only I could live down here for Spring/Winter, and up North for Summer/Fall, it would be perfect!

Yes, it's been nice down here lately. Tomorrow is meant to be 49 though, so kind of chilly (too chilly for skirts and dresses, boo). But then it's supposed to get back up into the 60s, which I will wear skirt in.

Oh how funny, Ana, I tried that skirt on in green as well tonite (when I bought the black & white one). I actually loved the green color and was very tempted; the fit is indeed great. I passed, because the black & white one is more striking and I wanted to get the J Crew denim skirt, too. But if the green one goes on sale, I'll be right there. It might just be a very skirt-y spring for me. I love taking advantage of the many great pencil skirts out there right now.

Wow, this thread saw a lot of action last night! It's not very often I wake up in the morning to a 2 page thread that just started the night before!

Ana, don't you have a red pencil skirt already?

I love the tops that Antje originally posted about. I am so fearful of large prints on my upperbody though. Especially prints that have some roundness to them--the cirlcles always land on my boobs!! Grrrrr..... We don't have an Express nearby, so I'd be reluctant to order it--because I'm 99.9% sure I'd have to return it. Yet another item I will enjoy thru you guys!

49 is too chilly for skirts and dresses? It's supposed to be below zero today...now THAT is too cold for skirts and dresses!

I do have a red pencil skirt, but it has two slits up the sides that come up kind of far when I'm sitting down. It's not obscene or anything, but maybe just a little higher than I really feel comfortable wearing to school or work, so I've been looking for a replacement for a while. Hopefully I'll be able to get my hands on this Express one, since it's a nice quality skirt, the same weight as the skirt I have now, and it fits well.

Nicole, you may have hit the issue I ran into with that top. Something just wasn't right. I didn't know what, but that might just be why.
I'm considering returning one pair of dress pants and looking at these fabulous skirts everyone is talking about. I saw the black and white print one but confess that I thought it was a strapless dress the way that they had it hung. Oops!

Sara, I believe they do have strapless dresses in that same black & white print, so that might be what threw you off. Do take another look and find the skirt, it's quite fab.
And they definitely have solid color skirts, including the great green one (at least I thought it was green.) It'll be great to see what other colors they come out with. If Express pencil skirts fit you well in general, then this new spring style is a no-brainer.

Thanks Antje, I think I will look again. I like that print a lot. And I'll try on the pencil skirts. I tried on a grey/black plaid pencil skirt that was on clearance and it fit like a glove. I put it back, and now I'm wondering why I did. It looked great with the black motorcycle jacket I tried on with it.
I'll go back in tomorrow and see what I find. I love pencil skirts and my favorite cream with black dots pencil skirt (JCrew) is getting too big to even stay up anymore. I definitely think it will be worth it to have it taken in.

I went to Express today to try on the black and white skirt and take pictures for those of you who are interested in it. I think it looks okay, but I still feel that a solid color skirt is maybe a bit more flattering on me. It could just be that I'm not used to printed skirts and a lot of attention on my lower half:

I also tried on the green skirt to get an idea of what size I should order in other colors. I tried on the 6 first, which is the size I normally wear at Express. I think it was too tight:

So then I tried on the 8. It's a good fit, but still a little bit looser than I'm used to wearing (something to keep in mind if you're thinking of picking up this skirt:

Online it comes in all sorts of colors. I fashion delivered it in red in the size 8, so we'll see if they can track it down. If not, I guess I'll keep looking. I'm going to buy a black one and a white one, though. Oh, and I think I need to have them all shortened on me to knee length.

Oh, thanks for posting the pics. Yup, these are the same skirts I was talking about. You rock the black & white skirt, and the blue and yellow from your top/shoes are such great colors to coordinate with it! That's just how I'd wear it, too. I think you look very fab - not just "okay"! Curious to see if you'll keep it.

I personally love the green color - on you and in general. But you're right, you do seem to be a little bit in-between the two sizes. The 6 looks just a little bit snug, and the 8 is a little bit loose. Do you think a tailor could work with the 8 to make it fit perfectly?

Thanks, Antje! I like the green color as well, I just can't figure out what I already have that would go with it, and I don't really want to go out and buy something new to go, you know? That's why I was sticking to black, white, and red (to replace my red one I have).

Yes, I was thinking of taking the size 8 red skirt to my tailor (when/if it arrives) and seeing what they could do, and how much it would cost. The skirt is lined, so that always adds to the bill. At the very least I need to have it hemmed to above the knee, so I'll just ask her then.

I'm still thinking about the black and white skirt. I could definitely work it into my wardrobe. I might pin it to where I would hem it and start another thread to see what people think. Maybe if it's shorter, it won't seem so overwhelming.
